Flexible Cystoscopy

I had a flexible cystoscopy - in 2023 - without any form of pain relief - no "gel" and definitely no Entenox - I was in so much pain during the procedure that I almost blacked out !!

The results were clear - but the consultant at the post procedure meeting told me that he would contact me in 3 months to update me - he DIDN'T - I waited almost 18 months until he wrote to me (I received an appointment letter, yesterday for my follow up in 2 weeks time)

This is how the NHS operates nowadays !!

Oh @Wibbles that doesn't sound pleasant at all, I'm really sorry you had to go through that with no pain relief.

The waits on the NHS can be so frustrating. I'm waiting to hear back on something too and was told it could be anything from two weeks to three months or longer. I'm not holding out much hope for the quicker end of the scale!

Hope the appointment goes well when it finally comes around.

This was courtesy of Urology - the worst department at my local hospital

Previously - they had me down as suffering from CP (Incorrect) - just because I was in a wheelchair !

Plus - the consultant insisted that we both remove our facemasks, at a consultation (back in 2021) - so he could "see our faces"…..

I had a fall in 2023 where I smashed my teeth and I have just got a letter come through about my appointment because I'm having my wisdom teeth taken out at the same time and it's 2 different departments that's a bummer.

I’ve had a couple of those procedures and couldn’t imagine having them without some kind of numbing pain relief .
hope you get this sorted soon

I was the pain is on and off but unfortunately that's the price you pay when you need 2 things done under 1 operation because of mental health I struggle mentally with them so we have all decided to do it under 1 operation.
