PIP assessment report is dreadful. Do I complain as well as writing mandatory reconsideration?
Hi, I've been reading for a couple of years but this is my first post.
I'm so stressed since my telephone assessment Thursday Feb 6. The report went in 2 hours later, by 8.24 Monday 10 Feb I had a decision that nothing had changed.
I have a standard daily living award.
I had initiated a change of circumstances review. This is because my mobility is so much worse: I now have a wet room built, a Lifeline pendant set-up, a wheeled walker.
I have longstanding conditions, mental health & physical.
The assessment was not recorded, my mistake. I think the assessor took this as carte blanched to fill her knock-back quota. She asserted things that I did not say (she was on speaker phone & my daughter was in room assisting me with written notes and repeating things)
She got a discernible attitude to me. It felt off. She kept disregarding my experiences.
In the report She has said I can do things I absolutely told her I cannot. And omitted much evidence.
Im still angry.
I've started gathering more evidence, but I'm afraid I can't get much for mental health. Will describing how the cuts took away all my support be useful?
And is it worth complaining about this mental health nurse who did my mobility assessment? Or just press on with mandatory reconsideration?
I feel so utterly exhausted by fighting for everything. Its why I don't bother getting help for most health anymore. Life is diminished.
I appreciate any advice, sorry this is long. I cannot sleep & am desperate to talk about this experience.

Hi @NickyWiresGlitter I'm really sorry you've had to go through this. No doubt these reviews can be draining without then having to deal with this type of behaviour. I think it's definitely worth raising concerns about this experience if you feel comfortable doing so. It's good that your going forward with the mandatory reconsideration (appreciate it's even more stress you don't need). I hope that you get the best possible outcome.

If it were me I would complain about the assessor.
Some of them do tell lies and they need to be reported for it.
Its in their code of conduct that they must be honest.
If people don't complain then they get away with it and they will probably continue being dishonest.
It is disgusting and they need to be called out.

Seems a standard PIP report experience, i don't think complaining about the assessor will mean much as they'll say you're unhappy about not getting an award.
This is my experience for my PIP and WCA claim, ignored affect of conditions and full of untrue statements.
The tribunal judge wasn't any better.

I always think it's worth making complaints, even if you get nowhere it's cathartic to write it all down, plus organisations record complaint figures so yours being +1 is a positive outcome.

Hi, everyone & thank you for your comments & sharing your experiences. I put my anger energy into contacting Maximus to complain, and gathering further evidence to support my MR.
This is not my first dance on the assessment floor, so I definitely feel a complaint is due. It was not my 'standard' experience, & I've had some vile times over the years.
I hope everyone gets what they need. I'm utilising law, case law, & writing a clear Extract of assessment then rebuttal plus explaining truth of my experience. Will add in the 7 day journal with new evidence.
I initiated this change of circumstances review as I've been so brutally injured & the degenerative results are coming in. I had a mental health nurse(?) Assess me, focusing on her interpretation of my psychiatric conditions.
