Pain but doctors say everything is fine , please help!

Hello,
Ive been having severe pain and fatigue for a while, but recently its gotten much worse in one wrist after i used a power tool. I get puffy ankles and hands, positive ANA test and other random positive results too. The fatigue a few years back was bad then it improved a bit and now i am back to having to nap throughout the day. I have been to physio, rheum (he was horrible to me and said i was a waste of nhs resources) blood test for inflammation comes back fine but i am honestly in agony every single day. Im so worried i have a note on my records for maligering when i am not. I find daily tasks difficult. I have raynaurds and autism but i really don’t know what is wrong with me and im so frightened i have a black mark. Doctors are not taking me seriously and when one does they refer me back to rheumatology who give me the same mean guy who says i am fine and is just harsh and repeat. Anyone have any ideas on what to help, who to turn to or possibly what condition i have? Very worried and scared that my life will be pain because no one will take me seriously and offer support. I want to work part time but thats really difficult currently.

I'd suggest asking for another rheumatology referral, but at a different Hospital so you don't encounter the horrible Consultant again.

Thank you for your reply, im not sure that is possible i thought you got allocated based on your location? Im worried if i request this i would look like i am picking for a diagnosis to get drugs or something but i really just want to be pain free. Thank you.

You are perfectly within your rights to request a referral to a different rheumatologist.

Hi @BluPanda27 As others have advised you, return to your GP and request another opinion. It might be worth googling rheumatologist in your area or consultants at the nearest university teaching hospital. Recently, I was trying to remember how many consultants I had to tolerate before getting an accurate diagnosis. It was number 8 that got it right. So press on!
I doubt that the unsatisfactory consultant you've seen would suggest you are malingering but it you have every right to request copies of your GP and hospital notes.
Good luck!

Thank you i am going to have a look and try and see gp tomorrow. Do you know how i request my notes or the person eho can help with that? Thank you! Tbh you should not have to see 8 specialist to be taken seriously and diagnosed im not sure if its nationwide thing but they are very elusive.

@BluPanda27 Make a Subject Access Request (SAR) to the Practice Manager at your GP surgery or the Patient Data Manager at the hospital. It's a good idea to put it in writing. There's often a fee so state the beginning and end dates of the period in which you're interested.
