#PIP
hi all I don’t know whether I am over worrying, but it seems that most other people here way before the 8 week period. however, I received this message from them today and I’m worrying.

We have not yet made a decision on your PIP claim. We will write to you when we have made a decision. You only need to contact us if your circumstances change.

Roughly how long after this are people generally waiting for a decision?

It is setting my anxiety through the roof, that I nearly didn’t read the message.

I literally have a phobia of phone calls at the moment and I am becoming increasingly more agoraphobic, is there any other way to contact them to get a copy of the written report that they received from the health assessment, without actually having to speak to them as I had filled the form in online with help of an advocacy service.
any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi @catmad98, welcome to the community. I'm so sorry you're having to go through the horrible waiting times for PIP, it's never easy.

Unfortunately the texts are often sent out automatically, they don't necessarily mean your case is at a particular stage. And often the easiest way to get information is to ring the PIP enquiry line which I know might be difficult for you.

Is there anyone who might be able to ring on your behalf? I'd understand if that's not possible.

Hi Rosie thank you for your reply…

sorry I am not used to this site and I keep missing answers.
I’m pleased to say that this morning I received a text saying that I have been awarded PIP but it didn’t say how much or what level, will I receive another text regarding this or do I have to wait for the letter, which they said would be about two weeks time.

I know it sounds silly me questioning this, but it’s just because of my severe anxiety.

thank you for all your help on this forum

You can call them although I note you'd find that difficult.

Backpay often arrives before the letter.

If you know how many weeks it's been since you applied, once the backpay arrives you can play around with some numbers to try and determine your award.

    These are the current rates:
