Can you request GP letter to help with housing?

hello, I’m new here and would just like to ask if anyone knows if you can request a GP’ supporting letter to be updated with the council housing dept? I have a disability but my supporting letter states I would benefit from a level shower and stair lift but I no longer require them as I have portable bath lift that can be used in any bath supplied by the OT and I don’t require a stair lift as it was only only for possible futur use but I manage with extra hand rails. My issue is I need this to be changed as the council keep bypassing my bids due to the properties not meeting my needs but I don’t need them anymore. What do I do can any one advise me.

Yes you can ask your GP for an updated letter.

You can then give this to the bidding department and ask them to update your information on their system.

    Hi

You would be best contacting the OT and explaining the situation to them so they can contact the council to amend your housing requirements.

I know a lot of councils no longer accept recommendations from GPs and rely solely on their OT team for recommendations/requirements.
