Will I be better off after uc migration?

in Employment & Support Allowance (ESA)

I'm aware that because of transitional protection I'll be at least on the same amount after uc migration as I'm currently on with ir esa. But I read a post on here which seems to suggest I could actually get more money on uc after migration than I'm currently on. I was wondering if anyone could confirm.

I'm on income related esa. In the support group.

I get:

£138.20 a week

Plus

£20.85 EDP

= £159.05 a week

Or

£318.10 every 2 weeks

(£636.2 every 4 weeks)

    As UC is a monthly benefit, I'll convert your ESA to a monthly figure (multiply by 52 then divide by 12).

    ESA: £689.21

    UC LCWRA +Standard Allowance: £809.64.

    So yes you will be better off under UC.
