i totally agree with you they should not be targeting anybody especially not sick and disabled people.ive worked for 20 years of my life until i couldn't work anymore because of my illness and if the safety net wasn't there i would have been in real trouble.hopefully these proposals will fall flat in the court rooms.

details of the Government's welfare shake up. Over £6bn saved in total, 5 of which come from making it harder to get Personal Independence Payments, PIP will also be frozen next year so no rise with inflation & overhaul of out of work benefits as well 1/What criteria tighten PIP access?Do reforms match UN disability advice?134373271298K

{link removed}·6hIve heard that the Govt is going to increase the basic rate of Universal Credit, but cut the rate for those judged as too unwell or disabled to work. Cost neutral according to sources, to incentivise work BUT 2/1811710540K

surely itv is a reputable source though ? I read somewhere they are also looking at invisible conditions such as fibromyalgia which I have . As though if it can’t be seen it doesn’t exist.

I really hope you’re right but I can’t help thinking that this was leaked to see how it goes down with the public before it’s officially released.

I hope you’re right but the government tried before with DKA to PIP . It seems very discriminatory to take from one group ( lcwra) to give to another group ( job seekers) . If we are too sick how can they get away with discriminating against us ? I did read conditions such as fibromyalgia will be the next group they will target . Invisible conditions where we don’t look sick enough .

looking on twitter there is a big backlash against these proposals and people are threatening legal action.there is a lot of anger to theses proposals and if they try and rush things through it will be crazy as the courts ruled in january that the tories wca plans were rushed so therefore unlawfull.they can't ignore the courts judgment surely.

If they do cut LCWRA how likely is it going to be a big cut like several hundred. Is it possible that it may only be a much smaller cut like maybe £30 or something?

If it's several hundred I literally wont survive.

Don't listen to the scaremongering. If your condition has significantly deteriorated, let them know and claim the higher amount.

Hi, Danny, I'm terrified too because of them picking on mental health as I'm on LCWRA because of mental health issues, depression, anxiety, not being able to cope with regular life, getting easily very mentally distressed, and feeling suicidal.

There was a time in my life where I wasn't able to leave the house for around 7 years, for me getting a car changed that, but if I lost having a car because of not being able to afford to run it anymore I would become housebound again, that on top of having to deal with noisy neighbours which means I have to wear ear plugs or ear defenders almost 24 hours a day everyday would finish me, even more so if I would be being hounded by an invalidating, gas lighting work coach as well. I also have a little bit of OCD, but it flairs up pretty badly when I get anxious.

@Holly_Scope Is Scope running any consultations with its members regarding this issue? Although nothing has been set in stone yet, I’m really worried about it!

There appears to be a lot of scaremongering as usual.

Until the government make an official announcement later this month no one and especially not the media knows what cuts will be made.

    Scaremongering at its finest.

Until the government make an official announcement later this month nobody knows what they intend to do.

@luvpink I think the days of "scaremongering" ended with this report from a reputable journalist on ITN. It is so specific that it is an obvious governmental leak. The report lacks the fine detail of what we will hear on 26th but this is what we've been waiting for. It's the real thing and it's a killer.
