I hope you’re right but the government tried before with DKA to PIP . It seems very discriminatory to take from one group ( lcwra) to give to another group ( job seekers) . If we are too sick how can they get away with discriminating against us ? I did read conditions such as fibromyalgia will be the next group they will target . Invisible conditions where we don’t look sick enough .

I know it’s worrying and I know this government are renowned for stooping low.
But I really think we should all try our hardest to ignore the news, ignore social media and just wait and see what is actually announced later this month.
More times than not we all worry about things that never happen.
And even if they DO announce the worst, I really don’t think it will get past the courts and legislation. At least not for a long long time.
I know it’s easier said than done but try not to worry and try to remember that nothing is happening for a good while yet. :)

looking on twitter there is a big backlash against these proposals and people are threatening legal action.there is a lot of anger to theses proposals and if they try and rush things through it will be crazy as the courts ruled in january that the tories wca plans were rushed so therefore unlawfull.they can't ignore the courts judgment surely.

If they do cut LCWRA how likely is it going to be a big cut like several hundred. Is it possible that it may only be a much smaller cut like maybe £30 or something?
If it's several hundred I literally wont survive.

They won't be able to cut loads from lcwra , because it will never get through , it's to high risk .... What worries me is them picking on mental health .... I have extreme OCD and haven't been outside in over 5 years , not once , my life is just one circle of constant rituals and intrusive thoughts , I'm terrified

Don't listen to the scaremongering. If your condition has significantly deteriorated, let them know and claim the higher amount.

Hi, Danny, I'm terrified too because of them picking on mental health as I'm on LCWRA because of mental health issues, depression, anxiety, not being able to cope with regular life, getting easily very mentally distressed, and feeling suicidal.
There was a time in my life where I wasn't able to leave the house for around 7 years, for me getting a car changed that, but if I lost having a car because of not being able to afford to run it anymore I would become housebound again, that on top of having to deal with noisy neighbours which means I have to wear ear plugs or ear defenders almost 24 hours a day everyday would finish me, even more so if I would be being hounded by an invalidating, gas lighting work coach as well. I also have a little bit of OCD, but it flairs up pretty badly when I get anxious.

Feel for you mate .... I wouldn't wish what I've got on anyone 😌

@Holly_Scope Is Scope running any consultations with its members regarding this issue? Although nothing has been set in stone yet, I’m really worried about it!

There appears to be a lot of scaremongering as usual.
Until the government make an official announcement later this month no one and especially not the media knows what cuts will be made.

Scaremongering at its finest.
Until the government make an official announcement later this month nobody knows what they intend to do.

@luvpink I think the days of "scaremongering" ended with this report from a reputable journalist on ITN. It is so specific that it is an obvious governmental leak. The report lacks the fine detail of what we will hear on 26th but this is what we've been waiting for. It's the real thing and it's a killer.

These do appear to be leaks from the upcoming Green Paper.

It would have been easier and saved my time (which I give freely as I don't work for Scope) if you had been that transparent at the beginning.
He would not get UC with his daughter living there.
He would not get UC if his mother is under state pension age and getting a private pension.
He would get UC with his mother living there if she is state pension age.

To be honest, disabled people in this country should launch a 'class action' against the State,
for the 'Austerity' against 'disabled' persons and 'Austerity II' which is about to 'unfold'.

It's true alot of of us with mental and physical illnesses will crack they want to watch some people with MH could be damaging to public

It's really weird I don't know why I'm not worried

Can they faze out the welfare system over time ?

This is crazy!
The government really wants to play like an empire, but the only way it can get money for these games is by taking it away from the disabled. Shame!1
