Hey @YogiBear we've yet to receive times yet. As for our take, there will of course be an official statement from Scope on the day, once everyone's had time to check all the details properly.

Thank you Albus. I think all this speculation is very cruel on the disabled community and will be ramped up by the media in the next few weeks. The government doesn't seem to care. Will any of the proposed changes come into effect straight away do you know?

We'll know more on 26 March 2025 when we hear from the horses mouth so to speak. Maybe try and limit reading things online and listening to the news. That's what I'm going to do.

Unfortunately we currently have no way of knowing @YogiBear and the same for @Danny123 question. I really wish I could give you all the answers, but we just don't know what's happening. But I agree the media should just stop reporting about what they think may be happening, as it's not helping anyone's blood pressure or mental health.
As said previously, we've been told the government have been actively listening to and engaging with Scope and other charities. Something the previous government didn't do. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

All the online news outlets seem to have different rumours of the coming cutbacks, we've just got to remember that that's all they are at the moment, made up stories and rumours.
Although it's all a worry all we can do is wait untill the government wake up and tell us what's going to happen.
It's quite cruel how they're treating us like this.
The only certainty now is that Labour wont be getting voted in again !!

Thank you Albus.

Reading the news is sickening but everything I've read today has been to do with spending cuts in general. The words "benefits" and "welfare" keep the right wing happy. Yes, we'll be hit but if Labour's plans to get more disabled people into employment they have to work slowly and steadily not like Sweeney Todd. Mind you, it's killing me.

Sorry for the rant previously, it boggles my mind how people get off on making the lives of the disabled harder, like it's some privilege to be disabled/incapacitated, it's not, it's a living hell, the finances are a rest bite, a lifeline.
A financial net for disabled people shouldn't be a Left or Right Wing issue, it should be a default position, there will always be disabled people, there always has been disabled people and there is nothing anyone can do or say which will change that.

100% agree and it makes no sense economically either as literally all of my money goes back into the economy whereas if the rich get tax breaks etc it will just go to an offshore account

Months ago, Starmer and other Ministers made statements it troubled them
people were basically terrified of them, depending on what journalists you trust
its the people like McFadden and others who are steering the ship, At the moment its defence needing more money, but for months long before they were elected they doubled down on Welfare, they will not accept the pandemic has left a long term new generation of disabled people not just young but right across all age groups and social classes.
Doctors,Teachers, Nurses all left now reliant on the state many have lost everything,
they want to push the focus onto mental health, but again the dire state of the NHS
the survey they conducted proved people having to claim benefits I believe it was in the region of 40% were clients who were waiting some form of NHS Treatment/surgery and fully wanted to go back to work,
I explained to the local MP this scenario which is mine.
Currently Energy bills are 460 PPM
Blood,Poo,Vomit despite what the adverts suggest no they don't come out at fast wash 30C
its 2hrs 20 Mins bed and bath, The Wheelchair takes 8 hours to charge, my Stairlift is over 15 years old, the hoist is so old it could lift a hippo, the bed is also airflow as is the bed to lift me
the chair is also powered. Food prices are just going higher and higher and quality is lowering
to the stage "fresh" fruit and veg is very often rotten so the choice is waste money on petrol
or just salvage what you can and forced to buy more later in the week,
they want to paint this picture all sick/disabled people have 900 inch smart TV's the very latest I phones. we all smoke 300 a day and drink like fishes.
Not once has a journalist covered the fact in 2011 the condems stopped so many items on th NHS if you have chronic long term wounds, why? these are often made with silver and cost 49-59 pounds for six. The list of what they stopped is endless, its cheaper to buy puppy training pads for the bed and the ones supplied by the local health board are 15,00 for 25
when B&M you get 100 for cheaper, We are not living we are existing and they dare have the front to keep pushing this idea we are all living it up. My consultant is pushing hard for me to be put into Nursing Care, even the most basic place is around 1,340 a week and its got a terrible name, If they really want to push thousands of people into care it would
bankrupt every single council no matter what party runs it. They keep running away from something the UN warned members about Covid would create a mass disabling event and covid is STILL rampant. They can change the colour of the envelope we are dread the post and we know why, we never asked to be ill we never asked to be born disabled or become disabled, we never asked to be just scraping along from one month to another with both main parties more than happy pushing this idea most of us are scroungers with nothing wrong with us.
One last bit of advice, It might seem pointless but when you know exactly what they have planned, make contact with the local MP get friends Family to do the same, while the media will ignore it making constructive contact with the MP explain the situation YOU face
because 5 years goes in the blink of an eye, I know from one of the societies I am a member
nearly everyone who voted Labour will never vote for them again, Its not registered with them how betrayed and hurt people are. When you hear Kendall and Timms talking about "getting this right" and feedback from Charities those are empty words when the entire foundation of this is based on cuts.

I know LBC is not for some but at 6:39 Steve Wright is opposing the benefits cuts and from 7 am Nick will be talking about the benefit cuts
