That all sounds really horrendous! After I sent the form back this time it took a year for them to assess me over the phone because of the backlog but it wasn't a long phone call and she just seemed to want to clarify a couple of things. She did call me out of the blue though which made me panic because I didn't answer it the first time because I didn't know who it was. It made me feel she was trying to catch me out, but she did call again. It was all very stressful but wasn't as bad I thought it would be. I do feel lucky about it but do still worry that they will suddenly decide to whip it away from me one day. Hopefully next time you should get a much longer award otherwise it's ridiculous.

Mine ignored all medical evidence, my GP was astonished. She twisted what my specialist wrote and blamed my ME on a sick family member. Then wrote but she’s ( meaning me ) ok now . Although there’s no cure . Dwp gave me points for MR but I still went tribunal. The worst was the disabled woman herself. She bullied me and said inappropriate things. Then tried to remove points off me for a question I had been awarded points for by dwp . That would have left me with nothing. They were playing up to the dwp representative who was there and thought she was Ironside. Four of them questioned me as though I were on a murder charge .

I only ever get 3 year awards and I'm on highest rate for both elements.

hope im wrong but i don’t think they will backdown on anything, just caught a brief piece on Google from the guardian saying that Starmer isn’t gonna give way on anything ,hopefully just a headline getter but I’m not so sure

it was exhausting. I begged her why do they keep doing this . I can’t get better there’s no treatment or cure . I was in pain . She then wrote that in the report and ticked review in two years . It’s not even a full two but 22 months

I am 60 about to turn 61 and severely disabled. I am on ESA (contributory) support group which was awarded on an ongoing basis and the enhanced rates for daily living and mobility for PIP which was awarded for 10 years when I was 59 (I think this is also classed as ongoing). Just had a look at my points and I was awarded 24 for daily living and 12 for mobility.

Does anyone get a sense of what changes will look like in practice? I see three options:

    1) The changes will be implemented at review (usually a year before the current award expires)

    2) The existing points on the last application will be used to determine rates / eligibility going forward

    3) A new application will.be required

What do people think is the most likely option?

Regarding points, I think you need 12 currently to get the enhanced rates but that's moving to 16 (if some news outlets are to be believed) and you require at least 2 lots of 4 points as well as the extra 8 from elsewhere?

Going on everything else they've been doing, I worry this is what will happen. They do whatever they want now.

this is where they waste money paying for constant assessments. As soon as you get your award you have a bit of breathing space then the worry again

Well they didn't give in over the wfa or the farmers inheritance tax despite the protests so its not really looking good for us.

I watched a bit of the parliament today and they did seem to make a point of protecting ppl and that the disabled will be pleased. So 🤞 it’s not so bad

I read it as 4 points for one question then another for for lower amount . 4 points for one question and another 8 for highest

Isn't that why they are placed in those positions though? and IDS Mel Stride Lizzy I started to wonder that when Mel Stride didn't lose his seat and fact they all seem to share same ideology regardless of the Party they represent. All seems too perfect for the super rich who have always been very vocal about getting rid of social security because they themselves don't need it ☺

So 2 x 4 points plus an extra 8 from other areas i.e. could be 4 x 2 points to make the 16?

Any indication of what will happen to those on ongoing awards? It was hard won 2 years ago, and it looks like it's going to be lost.

I think I did this accidently. I filled a form in at my GP to access medical records. All I wanted was really to see recent things on my ap but I ended up with approx 500 pages of my records right from birth emailed to me. I am very tempted to print the lot off when I am next accessed rather than just give recent stuff.

They are brutal and quite frankly cruel.

They make the middle ages seem enlightened

That doesn't sound right…..not that I know anything. It's awful. You must have been totally wiped out, it's bad enough as it is. I know, there is no treatment or cure for M.E. I have looked all over. There has been no money put into any research for years and as far as I know if you get it later in life you are less likely to have much improvement, if any. Mine feels like it has set in and is definitely worsening now 'm getting older, how ever much "pacing" and resting I try and do. I am frequently stuck in bed now and my poor son has to help me a lot more than before.

I could be wrong but I read it as 4 points for one question plus another 4 points making 8 lower . 4 points plus 8 for highest making 12 .

If I’m wrong I’m sure someone will correct me but right now we don’t know what going to happen. I certainly wouldn’t worry if you have a long award . Right now they still have a backlog anyway.
