Partners pip journey so far, hope this helps others and also can share experiences good or bad!
My partner called and applied for pip 9th November 22.
29th November 22 called PIP as no forms received ( guessing due to post strikes) received online form during this call.
16th December 22 returned online form.
17th December 22 received text messages from assessment service to say they are dealing with assessments for pip.
13th January received text.
Informing telephone appointment booked for assessment on 27th January 23.
We was expecting a long wait for assessment appointment. Was only 4 weeks from submission of forms.
Partner is very anxious about this assessment! finds it very hard to understand and answers questions. Any tips would be great 😊
How long was your assessments, decision times ect.
Have a lovely evening

Thank you for sharing this with us @Charjay1989 It's always helpful to see other people's timelines.
I hope that your partner's assessment goes well. In terms of the length of the assessment, this can really vary, and doesn't necessarily indicate how 'well' the assessment has gone. As for the decision time, I believe it can take around 2 to 12 weeks to receive a decision but, again, this varies quite a bit.
Asides from that, I'd recommend that your partner has a drink and snack with them during their assessment. It's also important that their phone is fully charged. You can sit with them, if that'd help them feel less anxious. If they need the assessor to repeat or reword a question, they should tell the assessor this. They should also be able to tell the assessor if they need to take a breather before moving onto the next question.
Some people find it helpful to have some notes with them, in case they have a mind blank.

@Charjay1989Hi I had my phone assessment on the 5th January this was a review off my award, I received a letter 14 days later which I couldn’t believe. Thought I would wait a lot longer.
I was kept on my same award so delighted.
I hope your partners goes well.
Good luck ❤️0 -
My journey with pip was, apply 4th July, assessment 28th Nov (the assessment in my case, everyone is different, took two hours by phone then another call two days later for near an hour, it was hard but glad I did it), report was audited before sent to DWP, report received 11th Jan, pip awarded 17th Jan.1

Hi I hope your doing well, and I hope your partners assessment goes well.
I was quite anxious throughout mine even though the lady was nice, i had made some notes just to have beside me if I needed to check them, but to be honest it just all came to me.
Have a drink beside him incase he needs it, and if it’s a mobile he is using just make sure it’s fully charged.
Good luck and take care ❤️0 -

Hi and good luck ☺️ My partner applied for PIP first time on 11/11/21 he had his assessment in feb 22 got his decision in April 22 0 points on all descriptors asked for MR got decision from MR in July 22 0 points awarded again appealed it they have 28 days from when you lodge appeal to change their decision again and did not, once the 28 days was up it was September 22 we have been waiting for appeal hearing since then we got a letter beginning of jan 23 to say his appeal was 24th of this month which was Tuesday we went to appeal which was really emotional the 3 men on the panel which was the doctor judge and disability advisor were so understanding and on my partners side they did send someone from DWP to argue on why not to give it to my partner with absolute garbage evidence they were clutching at straws you could see the judge was getting really annoyed! After 2 hours in the hearing we were asked to wait outside before we could sit down outside within less than a minute they asked us to come in and awarded my partner the enhanced rate of daily living and mobility for his mental health anxiety and depression! Do not give up is all’s I can say because the whole time he wanted to and I kept too it for him because I knew he was entitled what I would say is just expect to go to tribunal and you know what to expect then because the whole process is absolutely diabolical the assessors the decision makers the whole thing! But there is light at the end of the tunnel!1 -

Thank you all for your experiences @Lou67 @caringformypartner @james2332So today was assessment day!!After 2 very long hours the assessment was done!! Lady seemed nice enough but felt like an interrogation with the amount of questions she asked. She asked 3 different ways about each question.
partners support worker in the end had to step in and explain what the assessor meant and explain what he was trying to say. Also that he was in a lot of pain and wouldn’t be able to continue much longer. At the end she apologised for taking so long and stated we should receive a letter within 8-12 weeks with decision. And we can request MRs and appeal. If we don’t agree.Hope you all have a lovely weekend0 -
@Charjay1989

Call pip this morning to see if they have received the report! To also request a copy but no report received. Call centre said to call assessment service and see what the hold up is!Called assessment service and they said it’s gone to audit so may take up to 3 weeks for it to be sent to DWP 😔
Will update once we hear anything
Have a lovely day all!0 -

@Charjay1989 My experience with the DWP has been very much the same as yours and has been going on about the same length of time. I received a letter from the Courts last week and I thought that finally my Hearing date had been booked or a decision had been made but once I opened the letter…which was addressed to me and had my details on the first page…I discovered that the second page was to someone else entirely and it had their outcome and not mine. I immediately rang the Appeals service and asked how this could have happened and did this mean they had my outcome letter and all they offered me by way of an explanation was that it must have been an oversight (well, clearly) and that they would send me a Postage paid envelope if I could please return the other applicants letter. I was given no further explanation and I haven’t a clue whether I they have made a decision or whether someone else has my letter.

Thank you for replying. Excuse my lack of knowledge on these kind of ins and outs but could you please explain to me what I should do regarding the ICO (??) I am not sure what that is exactly. I have no idea what I should be doing, it is all very confusing.0
