I don't think it was DWP, it was HMCTS.

I received a letter from the Courts last week and I thought that finally my Hearing date had been booked or a decision had been made but once I opened the letter…which was addressed to me and had my details on the first page…I discovered that the second page was to someone else entirely and it had their outcome and not mine. I immediately rang the Appeals service a...
    I stand corrected, HMCTS, thanks.

Thank you for replying. Excuse my lack of knowledge on these kind of ins and outs but could you please explain to me what I should do regarding the ICO (??) I am not sure what that is exactly. I have no idea what I should be doing, it is all very confusing.
Report the breach to the ICO (that's the data that the HMCTS has sent to you, that belongs to somebody else). Also explain to them that HMCTS has possibly sent your data to somebody else.

Called them to say we wanted to apply dec 2019.  I am appointee for my son who was transferring from dla.

Got application form just before christmas 2019. Had completed and returned early january.

Im afraid my memory is a bit hazy about the exact time but, a few weeks later, received a letter to say they had all the information needed to make a decision.

By late march 2020, notified of award. Assessment paper based.

I think it was 12 weeks start to finish and very straight forward in our case as they didnt need any extra info.

Received assessment report today! Assessor scored 14 points daily living and 20 for mobility.

Now just wait to see if PIP agrees.

The report wasn’t all that bad but did have a few interesting things that wasn’t true!

Be nice to hear once you get word back, good luck.

Aww that’s great news, I’m so pleased for you,  now you can relax.that was quick.
It’ll be a big weight off your shoulders.
You could receive money in the bank before you actually receive your letter. As it mostly happens.

Again so happy for you ❤️

That is wonderful news Charjay. I honestly don’t know what is going on with mine, it’s been about 17 months and still no conclusion. When CAB initially filled in my form for me over a voice call they informed me that how many points I should get but then when it went to the DWP’s decision they awarded me 0 points. Does anybody know how a point system could result in such different outcomes. What point is there in them having a point system if they don’t follow it themselves. I feel so disheartened by the whole thing. Could someone please help me understand how this could happen. Thank you in advance.

I am gobsmacked 😶 on reading that  Artful received someone else’s report someone has surely breached Data Protection and should be investigated for it I am 💯 certain it won’t have been the first time it has happened either.
I for one wouldn’t want someone else receiving my report.

I wish the people responsible showed the same concern. They are making no efforts to make amends or rectify the situation. I may as well be banging my head against a brick wall. I even spoke to the Data Protection people today and when I was finally taken off hold I was informed that my emails and phone calls were not going to make a difference, I was told that I need to put it in writing. I don’t understand why I am being made to feel as though I am the person in the wrong.

    Hello @Artful
I would seriously consider writing a letter of complaint to your local MP explaining that there has been a serious breach of the Data Protection Act and you are having a terrible time with your PIP application. Explain that you have been waiting for 17 months and you are still getting no progress. You can get your MPs contact details from here https://members.parliament.uk/FindYourMP I would personally write a detailed letter and send it recorded delivery to there constituancy office. If you write a detialed letter on your computer you can also send a copy by email to the main parliamentary email address. I personally would do both.
    Good luck

No problem. With the info I provided above I personally would also include in the letter a detailed explination about the problems your journey with claiming PIP has caused and I would also write in your letter about the impact the process has had on your health causing stress etc. Take your time and write a draft letter first on your computer so you know you have included everything you want to say. Wait a few days then go back to it and read it again because you might think of other things to mention Also keep a copy of the letter for yourself.

@Artful Appologies I forgot to mention (brain is not working 100% this morning lol) in your letter include your Date of birth, national insurance number and any reference numbers you have with your claim or tribunal that way they will be able to access and look at your claim easier from your letter.
