Hi and welcome to the community
Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't depends on case , if they are running to achedule etc it doesn't mean anything either way
If not they will send letter couple days later1 -
Thanks for your reply I’m really nervous for him as he struggles dealing socially especially face to face I talked him in to a face to face appointment so they could get an insight of how he is! I just don’t think he will cope well speaking for himself his hearing is tomorrow!0
-
Sorry I’m writing in again can I speak on his behalf as he is now stating he does not want to go it has been 65 weeks and I don’t want him to throw this chance to explain away!0
-
Unless you are his appointee then you will not be able to speak on his behalf. They may ask at the end if there's anything you would like to add. The Tribunal are very understanding and they will want to hear it from him exactly how his conditions affect him.

And how do you get to be someone’s appointee? Thanks for the reply0

If he's mentally incapable or severely disabled then you need to contact PIP. https://www.gov.uk/become-appointee-for-someone-claiming-benefitsHowever, it will be too late now if the hearing is today.
