My favourite has to be malteasers just like crunchie but in bite size pieces I used to like cinder toffee same thing as well really1

Glad you're loving the thread @Binky1234🙂
What about Texan bars: "A man's gotta chew whatta man's gotta chew"😂😂😂
Spangles were hard fruit squared boiled sweets with a dimple in the middle. Woolies brought them back for a short time in the 90s.
Opal fruits made to make your mouth water but if you laugh with a gob full, your cheeks really sting. Or at least they do when you're a kid.
I don't tend to laugh with mouth fulls of sweets these days!
Talking of parma violets (love them) what about the old fashione sweets in jars like sweet peanuts, aniseed balls, Terry's Neopolitans, pear drops, chocolate limes.
And the big sweet counter in Woolworths!! That is a very sad loss.0 -
Sarsaparilla tablets, kola cubes, pineapple chunks & sweet peanuts mmm.
Yes Woolworths is a big miss, especially the pic n mix, there was just something special about that. I used to go to Woolworths every Saturday with my Mam. Every Saturday night when Dad used to come in from work ,he used to have a big bag of pic n mix. Also,if when we used to go to the pictures to see the latest film,we used to go to Woolworths & get some pic n mix to munch on during the film.
Bring back Woolworths,it was a great shop, even if it is only for the much appreciated & missed pic n mix,lol.0 -

Beech wood chewing gum ... that was nice
My wife buys tubs of parma violets and cherry lips ... best way to keep me away from her0 -
@anisty Yes! Where have the ruffle bars gone?!
For Christmas, I brought some snowman shaped plastic jars and thought for my grandmother, I'll fill it with ruffle bars as they were small enough. Couldn't find them anywhere!0 -
No Ruffle bars in my local Poundland but hopefully they will come back into stock.
Cherry lips - yuk yuk! Haven't seen them in years but never liked them.
Remember Fry's 5 centres - same as a fry's chocolate cream but had different flavours through it. That was really tasty.
I don't know Beechwood chewing gum at all.

I managed to get a tub of the ruffle bites online ready for Mother's Day!1

Chelsea whoppers were also a treat, I remember my primary school tuck shop selling them.0
-
I can remember germolene chewing gum.0
-
It was a great all round shop, wish would come back again. Wilko's is not a patch on it, especially the pic n mix. Yes germolene chewing gum tasted as though you had mouth full of antiseptic,haha.0
-
Ha ha ha love it - yep was a great shop x0
-
Oh no I don't recall Germoline chewing gum or Chelsea whoppers🤪
Has put me in mind of Fisherman's friend which are still on the go aren't they? Who buys them, i wonder.
Anyone remember Coltsfoot rock? That was nice. And licorice torpedos0 -
Hi @Hannah_Scope,
My friend just got some ruffle bars yesterday. There seems to be plenty in stock here, along with bags of Raspberry Ruffles, but I think I better stock up on them, just incase they go out of stock here, that just wouldn't do,lol.
I hope they come back in stock where you are soon.0 -
@MadCow1 There are quite a few things I've noticed as out of stock but I do wonder if they are rotating and tester new stock? I definitely would stock up!0
-
Yeah you could be right about that@Hannah_Scope.
Germolene bubblegum was called double bubble & there was a smiley face tattoo just under the wrapper.0 -
