Ah - Glasgow way! I'm more over the East side (near Fife) but grew up North of England.
I was in Glasgow last week - i never noticed these whoppers though😂
Ooh i have been researching the whoppers and they do sound yum!!
How have i missed these?
Going to ask my hubby - he is Scottish!
Fave Scottish sweets are Edinburgh rock and tablet.1 -
I haven't seen them for ages tbh. 😕0
-
Hubby has heard of them (vaguely)
You can order them online - the originals!
Might get some😉0 -
Hi @Binky1234,
Never heard of chocolate whoppers, but they look nice. We don't have them here in the north east of England.0 -
mmm think i'd like the Chocolate Whoopers, i like a nice bit of fudge, never seen these in the Midlands x1
-
Great thread.
Im from Glasgow and Chelsea whoppers were a favourite off mine they used to sell them single and were amazing!!!1 -
They look good never seen them before0
-
Doses anybody remember MB bars they were amazing might also be a Scottish sweet.0
-
Yes I remember MB bars they were quite like the frys bar but they were pink inside if I remember correctly either strawberry or raspberry flavour fondant inside 😋
Anyone remember the penny caramel with green tartan paper wrapping and the caramel was so hard you hard to hit it against the lamppost 😆
Maybe Scottish sweet again with it having a green tartan wrapper.1 -
@Binky1234
Oh yes I remember the penny caramel, they were so hard my mum would say your going to break your teeth lol but I still ate them.😂0 -
When our daughter was very young she informed us that she didn't like Crunchies,a few years later she told us that she'd changed her mind and she did like them now 'apart from the yellow bit in the middle'.2
-
Hopefully, you don't have to try taking the yellow bit in the middle out @Teigr! The thought of this made me chuckle0
-
It was a bit of a head scratcher @L_Volunteer,she's never been keen on chocolate so I'm not sure which bit of it she was planning to eat.0
-
This makes it even funnier @Teigr! Thanks for sharing, potentially the highlight of my day0
-
😂😂😂😂😂😂
So funny, @Teigr! There is definitely a best way to eat a Crunchie though - and that is to bite all the choc off the top first.
So - she has that bit sussed!
Talking of things that are Scottish and are best enjoyed piecemeal
Tunnocks teacakes!!
Have to be in the fridge. When cold, bite the choc off the top.
Lick out all the mallow
Eat biscuit last.
😋
Anyone else have favourite ways of eating certain sweeties?!1 -
As and when they come @anisty. I have a very strong sweet tooth1
-
I bite all the yummy chocolate off the bounty & then eat the yummy coconut .
