Interested in joining after a friend recommended joining a support site which she says has helped her considerably. Due to increasing pain, I am now unable to follow my long term hobbies and social activities outside my home and I am feeling isolated and cut off. I hope to discuss with others who may be in a similar situation.

Hey @veemo. It is great to see you have joined us and it is a warm welcome from me.

It sounds really difficult that increasing pain has had these implications for you. Do you have any support in place or any medical professionals you could talk to about this increased pain? Hopefully, you will feel less isolated and cut off here. We are all more than happy to talk to you. Though, I will say, in advance, we don't provide medical advice.

A lot of us are in similar situations. Personally, I have fibromyalgia which causes pain but I am aware we have community members with other things causing pain too.  Hopefully, our wonderful community will be able to discuss their similar situations with you soon. Lived experience can be super powerful, can't it? :)

Thank you for your reply. I have spinal stenosis in the group
and advice for my condition seems to be ‘increased meds’ at present. I look forward to hearing from others in the group.

I was a keen bowler and walker. I also enjoyed Zumba, line dancing and meeting with friends from my local U3A group. I am very limited to doing any of these activities now

Are you able to do virtual meetings with your U3A group? I know it's not the same but it's always nice to have a chat or play quiz games. During lockdown, I hosted a quiz night with my family each week and it was just what was needed <3

    What got you in bowling?
