Well I've missed my deadline then. They made a decision on the 24th of march and I only got the letter Friday so sent it off today. Will they be in touch to say I have missed it? Thanks0

No you haven't because you have 13 months to request it. If they refuse it then you just proceed to Tribunal.

I will not take it to tribunal. Its too stressfull and I know I can't go through with it. All the wait so far has been enough. I did sign it, recorded delivery 1st class. I will just wait and see what happens within 12 weeks. Thank you for your help0

As mentioned, you have one month from the date of your decision letter. You say a decision was made on the 24th March, so even if you'd received this letter dated the same day, then you haven't missed this 'deadline,' so no-one will be in touch. As poppy says, you can actually have 13 months in which to request it.
