No, it doesn’t, you will still need to report earnings and expenses as normal.
As you now have to work requirements the minimum income floor won’t apply to you.

Not herd anything yet about Carer's Allowance but did see this belwo which i never knew. Don't want to lose my other bennefits is this true.

    Effect on other benefits
Carer's Allowance can affect the other benefits that both you and the person you care for get.

Effect on the benefits of the person you care for
When you get Carer's Allowance, the person you care for will usually stop getting:

a severe disability premium paid with their benefits
an extra amount for severe disability paid with Pension Credit
You can check if their severe disability payment will stop by contacting whoever pays this benefit. This is usually Jobcentre Plus, their local council, the Pension Service Helpline or Universal Credit.

They might also stop getting reduced Council Tax. Contact their local council to find out if this affects them.

    Effect on your benefits
When you claim Carer's Allowance your other benefit payments may change, but your total benefit payments will usually either go up or stay the same.

You will not be affected by the benefit cap.

Use a benefits calculator to work out how your other benefits will be affected.

    If you get Universal Credit

Carers allowance will just be deducted in full from any UC entitlement, therefore there's no financial gain to claiming it at the same time. You will then receive carers allowance separately, paid either weekly or 4 weekly, which ever you chose when you claimed.

If the LCWRA element for you is for you then you won't be able to claim carers element at the same time.

If the person you're caring for is claiming a severe disability premium in another benefit such as Income Related ESA/JSA, Income Support or Pension Credit then they will lose this.

Does the person you care for claim any other benefits apart from a disability benefit?

Thanks, I thought remembered you but couldn’t search for your other threads.

This means that what you posted in a previous comment about Severe Disability Premium doesn’t apply to you.

Can I just check if it’s carers element you claimed or carers allowance? Carers allowance is a different benefit and is just deducted from your UC in full, as advised above and on the other thread.

Carers element is part of UC so this is what you should claim. Which ever one is claiming you need to report a change of circumstances. Then click caring for someone through your journal. It shouldn’t take long to claim this.

Then it’s carers element and not carers allowance.
Put a message onto your journal under the payments section and tell them you applied on X date but haven’t heard anything yet. It shouldn’t take that long to claim it.

But is it worth doing if i'm not going to get any extra money?

Carers element is £185.86/ month (April increase amount) and will increase your maximum UC entitlement.
It’s carers allowance that is deducted in full. I did explain this on your other thread too. You’re getting confused between carers allowance and carers element.

    Hi Poppy

asked about carers they told me I wont get it because you can’t get lcwra and carers at same time

was told I just will have to remove my LCWRA to get carers so ask them to do that for me

That's misleading and not quite correct. The same person can't receive payment for both elements at the same time.
If your wife claims LCWRA element then you can claim carers element. Or vise versa. You need to make sure they haven't removed the LCWRA element completely.
In a previous comment you said your wife receives the LCWRA element, which is why i advised you to claim the carers element.

UC staff are very poorly trained and often get things completely wrong.

The payment for your wife is the LCWRA element, not LCW. UC is a monthly benefit paid monthly in arrears.
The first increase will not apply until at least 16th May, this will be for those with assessment periods that start from 10th April.

You will not see your increase for UC until your June payment. This is because UC can't calculate an increase for part of a month. No one will miss out on anything and everyone will still be entitled to 12 payments at the new increased rate.

For your carers element all you can do is wait for someone to reply to your message or ring the helpline.

Not awarding you carers element is simply incorrect. There's no reason not to award you this if your wife is claiming either daily living PIP, DLA mid/high rate care or ADP daily living.

If the LCWRA element is for your wife then you claim the carers element, it's as simple as that.

You need to request the Mandatory Reconsideration on the decision not to award you carers element. You can do this on your journal and tell them you disagree with the decision and because the LCWRA element is paid for your wife then you can claim carers element. (Assuming no one else already claims either this or carers allowance for looking after your wife)
