I’m looking for some advice regarding LCWRA
I have COPD… I claim uc and PIP at present but I work part time as I’m a single mom and need the money.
I have COPD… I claim uc and PIP at present but I work part time as I’m a single mom and need the money.
My health is deteriorating and I’m having to have time off with the support of the gp in the form of doctors notes.
I’m back at work at the moment I work 18hrs per week and I’m struggling to do it … but I do it as I can’t afford to live if I don’t.
Due to having some fit notes I was automatically issued an assessment for LWCRA ….. will the fact I still work go against the decision they make or should I just get another sick note and stay off work while it’s assessed….. I really don’t know what to do can anybody help me ?
Thank you in advance

It depends whether the work you do contradicts the reasons why you think you’re entitled to LCWRA. Unfortunately no one can tell you whether it will go against it because we don’t know how your conditions affect you.Once a decision is made it will either be LCW, LCWRA or fit for work.
You can see the descriptors here for both of the above. https://www.benefitsandwork.co.uk/universal-credit-uc/uc-faq/limited-capability-for-work0 -

my copd leaves me breathless and I cough constantly, I’m a housekeeper and really struggling to hoover, mop make beds etc etc without having to catch my breath all the time, it’s a daily struggle to carry on and it’s for these reasons that I’ve been sent for an assessment. Based on this roughly …. Should I just stop trying? Hand in another sick note and not return to work whilst I’m assessed ?0 -
I can’t advise on what you should do that will be entirely your decision. It could take several months to be assessed and for a decision to made on your work capability assessment.0
