Hi I’ve just come on here for some advice. My granddaughter who’s almost 5 is autistic. She’s only had assessments at nursery as she’s going into reception in September. She has to have a one to one as she only says a few words. Can her mum put in for child disability payments without a diagnosis from the hospital as she’s still on a waiting list.

Child disability payment (for those living in Scotland only) has nothing to do with any diagnosis. You need to prove that your granddaughter has more care and/attention needs than that of a child the same age that doesn't have a disability. Information in the links provided.

Good morning @mackin1997 and welcome, thanks for reaching out
I'm glad to hear that your granddaughter will have some one to one support heading into reception in September. Hopefully she'll get a diagnosis soon, I know they can be a long wait sometimes.
I can see Poppy has replied above, is there anything else we might be able to help with?0
