LWRC and taking a holiday.
I don't know what the rules are.
Will my lcwra stop ?
I get depressed just thinking about it.
I have told universal credit what I want to do, but they haven't even got back to me. So stressed.
Any help ????

If it's 4 weeks or less you'll be fine.
I read on the gov.uk website you have to inform the jobcentre.
Hope you enjoy your holiday if you do go 👍

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. Do I have to show universal credit proof of holiday etc??0

As you've been found to have LCWRA providing you do not go out of the country for more than 1 month then you do not need to inform them (it says inform your work coach but you don't have one). Please do be aware that if you go for longer than this then entitlement to UC will end. https://www.gov.uk/claim-benefits-abroad/universal-credit You don't need to show proof of your holiday.

I hope you enjoy seeing your dad @one, is there anything else you're feeling unsure about?0

life said:So you don't have to inform UC if going on holiday? That's good to know. Didn't like the idea of having to tell them.
Thanks for clearing that up @calcotti 👍

I was curious to know what happens when you don’t inform them of your holiday and were to stay over 4 weeks? Do they find out and how do they find out?0

@ one, you can go on your holiday in peace, there is no way they will know about it. and you dont need to show any proof to them,1

Also, if I were to take a holiday on LCWRA for 2-3 weeks do you think it would have an impact on my review when it happens? or would they even know I had taken the holiday? I really don’t want to risk anything that puts it in jeopardy0

Hi

This thread is 1 year old. Did you have a question or need some advice?

Hi I want to ask that if you go abroad and stay there for more than 6 months what happens with your UC claim and lcwra ?
Thanks

The longest you can go abroad when claiming UC is 1 month. After that time your UC will close. If you don't report the changes after the 1 month then you will end up with an overpayment, which will need to be repaid back. All changes must be reported.

Can you have to close your claim before going abroad or just inform them that you are not coming back after 1 month ?
0 -
And can you report them your absence while outside the UK ?

If you have access to a journal then you will need to report the changes once you reach 1 month. Please also be aware that UC does not pay part assessment periods. This means that if the 1 month is reached before the end of your assessment period then you will not receive your next payment of UC. UC entitlement is based on your circumstances on the last day of each assessment period.
