Hi, I'm already receiving LCWRA. I've now been awarded Adult disability payment. I want to know if ADP will affect my LCWRA?

i have been claiming UC for about 3 years now, i was swopped over when i claimed esa so recieved LCWA with my UC instead of ESA. recently i was asked to do a work capability assessment as it’s been a long time since i had one. they contacted my gp gave me an appointment t for saturday but then cancelled it and said i didn’t need the assessment now and i still get LCW . but my uc statement this month hasn’t got the LCW payment on it even though it’s been paid since 2020 . anyone have any idea what’s going on? i have messaged them just not had a reply0

Hiyya just in case you didn’t know cause I wasn’t inform at all this was a thing so it’s my mission to put it on all threads with PIP and universal credit involved lol
if you’ve been award PIP/DLA and you get universal credit you can have some claim be a carer for you and get an extra £180 a month. There’s a few things claiming ti be a cared there’s Carer allowance which is means tested on your income and they’re carer element which is on universal credit
basically if you a family member/friend or partner that lives with you and claim they take care of you. You can get an extra £180 on your Universal credit entitlement
here’s my example: I live with my partner so their on my claim for universal credit and I get LWCRA and PIP due to my health. My partner simple went on universal credit went to “change of circumstances” - “care for someone” - clicked care for me Emma. Then ticked that I got pip and then ticked he cared for me for 35 hours a week and that’s it. They look into if you actually get PIP/DLA and that’s it. We’ve not been asked to provided any proof of the care for the 35 hours a week. It’s an extra £180 added to your entitlement so it’s worth looking into.
however if they person not on your claim I think they need to makethey’re own account or something to do this? Not too sure as my partner was already on my universal credit account.
really wish they would add a automatically message to your journal saying if you’re claim for pip youcan claim carer element if someone you know takes care of you etc

No, that's not correct. There's no earnings limit to carers element like there is with carers allowance.

Hole this helps a lotThere's one thing you're forgeting when advising about carers element. If that person is claiming the LCWRA element for theirself then they can't claim carers element at the same time.I'm not sure what you mean by "claim" they take care of you. Also one other extremely important thing to remember is that if a person is claiming one of the old legacy benefits such as Income Related ESA, JSA, Income Support or Pension Credit and it includes the Severe disability Premium, if someone claims carers element or carers allowance for looking after them then the SDP will end. You need to be very very careful when advising people about carers element and carers allowance. I know this doesn't apply in your situation but it will apply to some people.0
