Is it cursed? 👀
Hitting the papers the last few days has been a story from St Leonards-on-Sea.
Reported in LBC this morning, we know that the picture was bough be a shopper at the Hastings Advice Representation Centre. Then returned two days later! With the customer saying the "aura wasn't right".
Then, a second customer bought it. But she too returned it saying they "never wanted to see the damn thing again!".
With a note saying “She’s back! Sold twice and returned twice! Are you brave enough?”, the picture was put in the shop window.
Speaking to The Telegraph, shop manager Steve has reported the second customer came back and retrieved the picture!
This image has gone viral on social media with some loving the picture and others labelling it as cursed.
Over to you:
- Do you like the picture?
- Do you think it's "cursed"?
- What name would you give the girl in the picture?

Interesting! Thanks for sharing!0

I really like the picture! but I do believe in curses, so I'd have to see how I felt seeing it in person 😂0
-
I remember there was a picture of something like a grumpy looking little boy, in the 1980s, and people thought houses were burning down because of it2
-
I'm more concerned about the shop in the reflection.
I don't believe in curses or ghosts...but my Nan had quite a few of these creepy pictures and they always made me uncomfortable!1 -
@66mustang Was that a local story or something in the papers?
Haha @OverlyAnxious! Thinking about it, it is always "the nan" isn't it? To have all the old photos like that.1 -

I remember the crying boy picture in the 80s it was on the news a lot. As for curses they do intrigue me my grandparents had loads of them. I think the picture is nice not sure what name you would give the picture.0
-
@C_J were the pictures just decorative or of family members?0
-
@Hannah_Scope
It's a mass produced painting by an Italian artist apparently it's ment to be the most cursed painting in the world.
You can read a bit about it here:

Don't know if the link will work.

Oh, when you said your grandparents had loads of them I thought you meant pictures!0
-
Lol apologies @Hannah_Scope I ment my grandparents had lots of sayings due to curses or beliefs or whatever you call them. I guess a lot of people did back then it was a different time. Sorry for the confusion if they had a lot of those prints no one would have visited them lol.0
-
Haha don't apologise was my mistake. What kind of saying did they have?
I spent way to long googling haunted paintings last night and some of them, I can see why they got the title!0 -
@Hannah_Scope
They had the usual such as never walk under a ladder and the blac cat that crossed your path. Then they had thing like.
Never move on a friday.
Never put new shoes on a table.
Never open a umbrella indoors.
Seeing one magpie is unlucky.
Never pass anyone on the stairs.
One I never got after eating a boiled egg push your spoon through the bottom of the egg shell.
There was loads but they believe in them and always mentioned them when we were growing up.
I did the same with the paintings there's a few out there.
