Boil 'em? Mash 'em? Stick 'em in a stew?

The team have been having a very heated discussion over the best way of cooking the humble potato.

So how do you like your spuds?

Are there any ways not mentioned that you love? Let us know!

I love potatoes but am doing without too many of them at the moment as I am on a diet. Generally my favourite are roasted potatoes but I will take them however they come.

I put other as I do them in lots of different ways,  plus you forgot crisps lol. Only have a portion tho of spuds as carbs

I tend to cook them roasted more often than anything else but my favourite is sauteed.

Mashed is bad, bad bad bad. Worst way to cook potato. The only good mash goes into gnochhi, croquettes or potato cakes. Basically if it's turned into something that has texture.

I am a terrible person for leaving crisps off the list!  How could I forget crisps?!

I've put other as it's a tricky poll I do enjoy mashed potatoes with gravy but I'm also a fan of all the rest (including crisps lol) I'm assuming the fried potatoes is bubble and squeak another favourite of mine but don't have fried food very often.

I also like roasted sweet potato. Where would we be without the good ole Spud.

Oh yeah I do love a bit of sweet potato.  Very good for you too! :)

Though I only like them when they're slightly caramelised.

I didn't realise sweet potato was good for you, always assumed it was sweet so that = bad!

I am not overly fond of it that said, I could happily eat it if it was served to me but wouldn't choose it.

Yes @66Mustang they're actually a healthier option than the normal potato.  Very high in vitamin A, but also slightly higher in calories.

I find sweet potato very hit or miss.  If it's cooked well, it's gorgeous. :)

I put other because i like them all ways. I don't usually eat too many of them though. I love sweet potatoe, it's lovely as a jacket potatoe because you don't need butter on it. Sweet potatoe chips/wedges are also delicous.

@woodbine Yes! Jersey Royals. Smothered in butter.

My favourite are probably roast potatoes but they seem to turn out different every time I do them but haven't for a very long time as I don't cook much these days.  Mashed potato if it's done right and is mixed with almost the same volume of strong cheddar (the cruncher sort).

My partner grew potatoes in the garden this year (well, it's her first year gardening). Our favourites were a variety called Damask, tasted like they were cooked in butter without using any butter at all. Lovely potatoes, we'll (read: I just carry things around, she does the actual gardening) be growing them again next year

I like that we have some sweet potato fans in the community. :)

Best way of cooking them?   It's got to be sweet potato fries right?
