    @MW23 I am going to do my best and manage what I can, but as the song says if I fail I fail. Thanks for reminding me about the cold.

    Meeting my grandson at the airport, returning from Chicago after 3 weeks intensive therapy at NAPA.

    We missed his lovely smile!

    Lovely @dagehar :) hope he's doing well.

    The sunset made me smile today. Lovely orange sky after a full day of dark clouds and rain.

    @MW23 Everything worked out really well. I did get cold but it was a price worth paying. Everything was good.

    @Steve_in_The_City

    I'm glad to hear that everything worked out well for you. I hope you enjoyed your fish and chips! While getting a bit cold may have been a small inconvenience, it sounds like the overall experience was worth it. Regarding assisted travel, would you recommend it to others based on your experience?

    @MW123 You asked if I would recommend assisted travel to other people. I personally had a good experience because I went on modern trains that were equipped to deal with me. They are better equipped I think to accommodate wheelchairs users rather than myself as a mobility scooter user but nevertheless I was dealt with. I spoke with a lovely lady on the assisted travel phone (0345 0264 700). She sent an email that I had to show but no-one  wanted to see it! The BR staff were extremely friendly and got me on and off the trains. They were waiting for me at Farringdon and at Brighton. And again going home Brighton to Farringdon.

    This experience has helped me a lot, but...

    Some months ago I saw a programme on the TV where a lady in a wheelchair had difficulty getting off a train. No one was there to help her. It was an old train and there was very little room for her to maneuver, no one came to assist her. I could not have managed with a slim mobility scooter in the space she had to manage.

    So I think you have to make sure you are travelling on modern trains with facilities for disabled people. I am going to have another go at travelling because you just feel so restricted being limited to where you live.

    Realising that the SeHCAT scan I had yesterday was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, and I have a full 6 days until I need to back to the hospital.

    Glad your scan went okay @Binky1234, I find that the anticipation can be worse than the actual test sometimes! Hope the second visit goes well.

    Today I smiled at a big round pigeon gorging himself on my birdfeeder. If he gets much bigger he'll break the twig he has to sit on to get to it. I love seeing chunky animals in winter!

    One of the local doves (I named them Randy/Randalph) has started calling when they arrive for feeding. <3
