Hey everyone, I can understand being frustrated at other members actions or words. If you find yourself frustrated, please report the issue you have rather than responding or directing words at them.

I know it's caused by the frustration, but escalating the issue publicly in the thread doesn't help anyone resolve the issue. Personally attacking another member, no matter how frustrating they are to you, is still against our rules and guidelines.

We are more than happy for you to share your frustrations and issues with us via reports, which you can submit via the Flag button at the bottom of a post.

We're connected by disability here on Scope!

I assume that each of us has experienced mental ill health and instability at some point. Many of us remain prone to it.
We're upset by different things and all express fear and distress in different ways.

I don't think anyone should demand answers on this forum!
There's no obligation to respond to any comment but sometimes the asking is aggressive. I don't know what being elderly feels like yet but perhaps we could all bear this in mind  :|

I have to say, I read this article yesterday and I wasn't happy about it, so much so that I logged in today and used a different name as to not be targeted.  I think there is bullying going on here and I don't think it's the first time this happened to the same person. I also believe if you don't like what someone says then report it or don't bother commenting especially if you are going to do so with malicious intent it makes for uncomfortable reading and to be honest I am fed up with all the snidey comments.

Sometimes when someone post opinion as fact they should be corrected, nicely of course.
I am sorry but I don't feel that the posts to a particular person have been nice. If they make me feel uncomfortable which they have for a couple of months now then something is not quite right.  I understand that we all don't have the same opinions and I understand that sometimes some comments aren't facts, or there are personality clashes, however I also believe there is a way to handle them more kindly.

It's always difficult to read any "tone" through a text because there is no tone to text messages. Sometimes people read it differently to others but very often no harm is usually meant by such comments. Sometimes a person may think someones comment is rather rude or harsh but then someone else may not think that.

I agree totally with woodbine, if someone posts opinions as fact and that is wrong then yes they should be corrected.

With the utmost respect, what I am trying to convey has nothing to do with tone, to be honest, it has to do with words, and how it is worded.  I think we should live and let live, not everything on here is factual, but there are agencies for that.

I feel Scope is about sharing experiences, thoughts, ideas etc.

I agree that opinions that are not founded should be corrected so as not to give out misinformation,  however, what I have been trying to say is there is a way to do that without a personal attack, especially when we don't know the poster's circumstances or disabilities.  We all need to try to be tolerant of other people and raise them up,  rather than nit picking.   Enough said as I don't want this discussion snowballing.

What £70's worth of cabs every week?

That's my weekly income and I can walk so in my case, no!

Somebody unable to walk more than 20 metres might spend that on cabs every week, yes!

Quite easily yes, remember also that PIP isnt an unemployment benefit so might be a cab to work, and one back every single day, that would probably exceed £100 a week alone.

Even 200m is a short enough distance that such a person is likely to need cabs when fully fit people wouldnt, 20m makes it extremely likely.
