I suppose I live in a cottage, not bungalow. I have neighbours both sides, but only one is adjoined, there is a slabbed path between me and the other side, we share a bin recess you see (I can play the boring beggar game too).

This 1 bedroom house was built in 2015 and I am the first tenant. So many of the original tenants are no longer with us, one has terminal cancer, one dementia, some disabled army veterans, the whole 9 yards in fact.

I have never lived in a modern house before this, the insulation and sound proofing is a huge improvement on past dwellings. Next door adjoined has her telly blaring, but i hear nothing through the wall (Telly is right behind it).

'Boring beggar game' 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 love it ha ha ha just be thankful i fell asleep ! I might have to start a new 'Really Boring' thread, I'd be in my element 😂 and could outdo the best bores.

I have neighbours each side but mine is a corner one almost detached as only joined to one by a covered ginnel. Or 'snicket' as its called in some areas, maybe Yorkshire way. My eldest dog is called Snicket but wasn't named after an alleyway but after 'a series of unfortunate events' by Lemony Snicket as he only came here after I lost two in a week. I'd never heard of a Snicket, came across it was a question on The Chase.

I've never met 4 of my neighbours who have carers coming in and only met another because he was going in a diabetic coma (i hadnt got their yet I swear!) and his wife came to me for help whilst waiting for the ambulance so off i went, scurrying as fast as my hips with spasms and swollen ankles and walking stick would allow. His wife in her 80s had to help me up! Could not get up off the floor , thought I'd need the paramedics myself. He recovered well thankfully.

My original next door neighbour sadly died and the police detective came to take a statement from me, I had to keep disappearing to the loo and I kept thinking he was eyeing me suspiciously as I couldn't quite remember when I'd last saw my neighbour. It was actually the Easter Monday, 4 days previously, as I recalled him going for a takeaway. They found the remnants in the top of his outside bin another of the detectives told me so I knew i was off the hook.

He was a decent fellow he kept himself to himself we all do really. When I moved in he asked if I've got any Status Quo cds that I don't want he'd have them. I went to give him two that I found and he tutted and said no I've already got them. ha ha.

Reality was very sad really and as I need to lose a stone or so, my dogs would have a reasonable meal I suppose.

Apart from my parents ex council house, I'd always lived in small, period style cottages 1870s and, an old malting apartment in Herts. This is I think c 1950s/60s. I miss character and history of a building but I've got a new roof yeh!!

Another neighbour a fellow animal lover rang for help last year with a dying hedgehog she found. We buried it together (after its demise) shedding a few tears for our prickly friend. I took a nice little cardboard box that had previously contained a clock it fitted in snuggly amongst the fairy tissue paper, she seemed to really appreciate that (the neighbour). She rang me Sunday about a dying little bird. I was willing to help but warned her I had double pneumonia and wasn't sure if it was viral or bacterial as she has very young great grandchildren I didn't want her catching it so she declined and buried it herself (after its demise).

You still their? Hope I've not induced a coma ha ha.

A similarly new thread could help for us with insomnia. 😊🫠🤣. I hope you have a good, more interesting day than mine although I'm off for an xray. Oh the excitement 😂
