A cold start to the day brr, how's your day going? 
I'm longing for a coffee but got a sleeping cat draped over me, pinching my body heat.

    As the original discussion by the wonderful @Sandy_123 has reached over 1200 pages it’s become a little difficult to manage, so with Sandy’s permission we’ve split it off into a new discussion so we can all continue to talk throughout the day.

    I have yes,i put it down to my body clock having done shift work for many years days/nights etc then started driving vans/hgv which required early starts like 2/3am.

    I've come round a bit now thanks @Lou67,I'm trying to do some housework but the dog's trying to climb into my lap so I'm not getting very far.

    I enjoyed a really nice spicy pizza yesterday.

    Today my IBS is punishing me for it.

    Why don't I ever learn?

    I used to tolerate spice fine even with my Crohn's but I had a gap of like 4 months of not eating any spicy food until last week and my stomach was not happy :( I must have  lost any tolerance I had

    Haha @Lou67 I've something great for you to watch or anyone on bbc iplayer films. It's called the last bus. It's about this young couple in 50s who move away from home, they get old and the wife dies, but he has to do the journey on a bus to get back home. It's like from Scotland to lands end. He gets caught up in lots  of different on the way and it keeps going back to him and his wife as he does the journey. It's really good and sad also

    That's an interesting sounding story @Sandy_123. Makes me think about someone I know who was just talking to me about their time in South Africa a few weeks ago. About how there is less automation in life, there's no self-checkouts, no machines to pay for parking for example. To pay for parking there's a parking attendant you have to speak to, there's someone at the checkout to talk to and help pack your bags. They said it showed them how much of our lives here have been "automated". How we've taken humanity out of a lot of the day to day things we do here and that causes some humanity and social interaction to be lost.

    Even on the buses now, you just tap your phone or card, or already have a ticket on your phone. You rarely have to say where you're going or even speak to the driver or anyone on the bus.

    Yeah @Jimm_Scope I find the bus better tho with the card as I rarely have cash on me, when I do I forget I have it and still use my card, but I natter to everyone around me lol.

    I used to travel by train a lot, from Scotland to southern England and back, a good 5-6 hour journey one way. One of my most memorable experiences was when the train was delayed by an hour and a half at Grantham. We all got chatting to each other, first just complaining about the delay but then just about each other. What we were doing, why were we travelling and about ourselves. It was actually really nice.
