Hi all
I have a brother who has down syndrome and autism. Recently has been fair to come up the stairs which has made it difficult as we can't take him out for walk anymore. Anyone able to provide helpful tips to help him overcome?

Hello @sousa82
Welcome to the community!I'm sorry to hear that your brother has a fear of stairs. Can I ask, do you know why this fear started?

We were planning to travel aboard and I think it freaked him out when we tried to get him upstairs to leave the house.0

Hi @sousa82, welcome to the community! Sorry to hear that your brother has become fearful of the stairs. Does he have any support workers or teams helping him? If he does, perhaps they could offer some things that you could try to help alleviate his worries.
Is there anything that has helped him overcome his anxieties in the past that you might be able to try?0 -
I have a fear of steps with open gaps where I can see through them.
I have vertigo and I panic.
unfortunately I am unable to go up and down them and I am too claustrophobic to use lifts.
I cannot use airports anymore because of this.
