Hi I'm 53 I suffer chronic pain due to fibromyalgia but also have bilateral coxa valga hips and most recently autism and vitamin b12 deficiency.  I'm a bit freaked out by the fact that when I googled my latest diagnosis of autism and possible ADHD diagnosed by one of the leading autism and psychiatric specialists my blood test results for vitamin b12 deficiency have been abnormal since 2006 and I wasn't told. I'm now not sure if I actually have fibromyalgia or neurological damage from at least 18 years of abnormal blood test results according to my patient access. I also have a hiatus hernia from acid reflux that nothing was taken seriously for years. Basically body and mind are a mess. Anyone else have multiple health issues alongside autism and coxa valga hips? Thanks

Hey there @angieC and welcome to the community.

I'm also late diagnosed ASD, with various other issues, including a hiatus hernia!  I'm guessing you've spoken to your GP about the lack of clarity with your bloods?

Thanks for the reply unfortunately due to cutbacks my appointment with my GP is in 2 weeks time. Very stressed with receiving autism diagnosis in the same week as finding out I have been vitamin b12 deficient for 18 years, when 4 years ago received diagnosis of fibromyalgia, both with similar symptoms.  I'm annoyed that I may have been misdiagnosed and deficiency vitamin b12 leads to irreversible neurological damage. So I have to worry about it and stew for 2 weeks.

I can emapthise with the GP waiting times, it doesn't help the overthinking at all!  But please try not to panic too much, you have an appointment and that's a good start. I'd assume if the B12 deficiency was something to be concerned about, it would've been mentioned by now.
With regard to the ASD diagnosis, please be gentle with yourself, it can be a lot to process and you'll be on a new journey of self discovery.

Thank you, the shock is starting to subside.  Apparently some of my illnesses go hand in hand, especially hormonal issues all my adult life and ASD and fibromyalgia are connected but I think it is still being researched.  I'm feeling more hopeful. Thanks
