I don't know if this is allowed to be answered because they don't like people giving med advice on here
I won't insult you by telling you the best bet is to ask a doctor, because I know that getting in touch with a doctor is near-on impossible at the moment
All I will say is everyone reacts differently even someone with the same condition taking the same medicine so people online really can't help and even if sharing their experiences it's likely yours would be different
Good luck3 -
there are people who tolerate it well drugs from ssri, others are crushed by even the lowest doses
i got sertraline again now
i tried in the past and it had a very bad effects on me
i took one tablet 50 mg in the morning and Phenergan at night which didn’t help to sleep at all
next day the veins in my feet hands came out and the pain was incredibly my feet swelled up even more were very heavy and it’s still painful , it wasn’t like that 3 days ago
in the past i couldn’t tolerate even 25 mg sertraline

Thank you Mustang
i had sertraline prescribed in the past my body wasn’t tolerate it at all and i got sertraline again now from a doctor and before i took sertraline about 3 days ago my legs were in better condition than now and other bad side effects
now is too late because it already did affect me in bad way1 -
Thank you Ada for writing here
i tried to use antidepressants 3 years ago ssri they don’t work for me , i never used antidepressants before ,
now i was prescribed sertraline again ( even when before sertraline did cause really bad side effects and was telling it to my doctor that im responding very badly for it )
and i stupidly took it now and did cause really bad reaction again
it’s about sharing experience

i read from the internet about peoples experience how they respond to ssri that some people cannot tolerate even small doses to all ssri drugs and i wanted to kindly know and to have a normal conversation about it here and to share my experience and experience of people on this forum on this topic
my body reacted very badly to ssri before and i was prescribed the same medicine again which i reacted very badly to
and i took it1 -
If you had a bad reaction to it in the past then why are you taking again now?1
-
Because my doctor gp prescribed it to me again0

i didn’t take it today morning and my legs are better and im feeling better, i still feel some pain from my veins but im better than i was0

i found the man’s story who decided to share his experiences in order to help other people
this man met the professor in Krakow who made him aware that from 6 months to a year this is the maximum duration to take antidepressants every day
There is even a ward in Krakow that treats people who have permanent side effects from these drugs
And from my perspective was very important to read about peoples experiences and what side effects they had from antidepressants
my body is very sensitive to drugs
the pain in my veins was unbearable my legs were so heavy that i couldn’t walk to the bathroom
this happened to me after taking sertraline
i stopped taking it and it’s better

Hi woodbine, thank you for writing here0

Hi woodbine, thank you for writing here again, i would like to write that the man i mentioned earlier was not a doctor , he took sertraline for three years,
Sertaline was also prescribed for me , it had a terrible effects on me
as well as other drugs from ssri group
This man wrote down his experiences emphasizing that they were his experiences and maybe they will help other people and he also wanted to warn other people and also he wanted to share his knowledge
Reading his treatment stories helped me a lot and im grateful that he decided to share it and also what other forum users wrote
people who also took antidepressants or still take them and shared their experiences
i also read the girl’s’ statement ( she took antidepressants 3,5 years) she wrote if she had found the forum earlier and appropriate therapist and books then she wouldn’t have consciously taken antidepressants

Hi Lou , thank you
i have a big problem because my body reacts very badly to them0 -
Hi Ada , thank you for writing here and your thoughts
yes people who have been taking them for a longer period should stop taking them slowly and reduce the dose and under the supervision of a doctor
based on my previous experience and what negative effects they had on my body in the past which effects repeated themselves again and the pain was unbearable along with other bad side effects after prescribing me medications from ssri group i have to be careful that the medicine that should heal me doesn’t kill me

Hi @Agnia any medication should only be stopped with your GPs blessing, but especially antidepressants as the meds take weeks to get into and out of your system and can make side effects a lot worse if suddenly stopped. Antidepressants in general take a few weeks to a month before you notice anything positive from them. So please speak to your GP about all of this.1

Hi Albus , thank you for writing here , i would like to write here this yet and this is where i will end my comments regarding antidepressants
some people cannot take ssri medications and even small doses have very bad effects on them i experienced this
treating depression is not just about serotonin ,
It’s also about dopamine as well and other chemical compounds
i feel an improvement in the conditions of my legs and not only legs when i don’t take sertraline and i didn’t need weeks to feel the difference
kind regards1 -
