Still havnt heard about my assement periods of when first payment will be when do they notify you of that ?
0 -
No problem. They will not notify you of when the first payment is. You will just receive the element included in your statement, which for you will be from assessment period 10th June to 9th July with first payment on 16th July. When you receive your statement that month please check to make sure it's included.

I will... its bad they dont tell you what your qualifying periods are ... for people such as me that dont know and have to seek advice thank god your here

Agreed and they are not usually very helpful when you do ask. Then very often they give incorrect advice too. This is the reason why this question is probably the most asked question here. 😂 Glad I could help!

Most people have assessments so you should expect one of those. PIP and LCWRA are 2 completely different things and being entitled to the one doesn’t automatically entitle you to the other.
They don’t often look at your details for the work capability assessment either so don’t expect them to do that. Same for medical evidence, they really contact anyone.
A marker on your file means the rules for returning forms are more relaxed because they can continue with your claim without the forms. Although they’ve received them now

Why more relaxed is there a reason for that ?

Some peoples health conditions may mean that they can't cope with filling out the forms. They may not open letters, they may not fill them in and return them because they could just put them to one side and "pretend" they aren't there.
Usually if forms are not returned it can affect your benefits and they could stop, if it's a review for example. This is unlikely to happen if there's a marker on your file.

Hi poppy first of all i apologise for asking but im even more confused... im awarded lcwra from 14th feb 24... ap 10th to 9th payment 16th .. i understand feb /march is disregarded and my waiting period is mar/apr apr/may may/june i get first psyment in july ... but what i dont understand from reading other sites they say its 13 weeks from your award date or which in my case is 14th feb so if im awarded from that date ive lost 25days lcwra award from fed/mar which is disregarded ... is that right surely if uour awarded from then you should get paid for that as you have already done the 3 months waiting ... and advice on that please ?

The 13 weeks apply to ESA and not to UC. As I advised many times in the thread for UC it's 3 full assessment periods for the waiting period. It's then paid from the 4th month, with first payment being the end of that 4th month. This is because UC is paid 1 month in arrears. You're not missing out on any money at all.
LCWRA is awarded from the date you provided your first fit note, which is why the work allowance applied from AP 10th Feb to 9th March. Then you need to wait those 3 full assessment periods for the LCWRA element to start.
You reported your first fit note on 14th Feb and your APs are 10th to 9th of everything. As you reported that fit note in the middle of that month, this doesn't count because it has to be full assessment periods.
Therefore your waiting period is March to June.. LCWRA starts from 10th June to 9th July and first payment 16th July. No LCWRA element is owed. This payment will be money owed from that assessment period because it's in arrears.

CAn I ask my fiend is on uc and recieves the lcwra element , she tells me that she is due 2 wage payments in her assessment period which is in Nov to Dec. She would recives slightly over 1000 for them 2 payments can anyone work out what if anything she will recieve thank you.
0 -
That will depend on whether her UC includes help with the rent or not. If it doesn't then her UC work allowance will be £673/month and the deductions on earnings of £1,000 would be £179.75 so she would need to take that away from her whatever her maximum UC entitlement is.
If she claims for help with the rent her work allowance will be £404/month. This would mean a deduction of £327.80 in her UC.
Please note that my calculation is based on earnings of £1,000 if her earnings are more the deductions will be more. If they are less the deductions will be less.

Hello @ashy24
Unfortunately we'd need more information to be able to calculate how much your friend's UC might be after receiving two wages in the same assessment period. Does she receive the housing element of UC?
0 -
Yes of course, she recieves the housing element, as well as the work allowance and of course lcwra element, she will.recieve 1050 in two separate payments of wages in her assessment period. I hope this helps thanks
