Hi my name is Carey Ann. My son Oliver is 33 and on the Autistic Spectrum (PDD) and a growth disorder called Multiple Epiphyseal Displaysia. Things are complicated, as I am sure they are for many of you!. I am an older mum and up until now I have cared for Oliver on my own. Now I need help and advice so I can plan for his future. This is why I have joined this community. I am feeling very overwhelmed and Oliver is also sensing this. Thanks everyone!

Heya @CareyAnn and welcome from me too.

I can see Beaver79 has already given you some top advice here, but I wanted to stop in and say a quick hello. If there's anything else you need, please just ask away.

Hi Beaver and Albus, Thankyou for replying to me. When Ollie was younger he was constantly assessed and received benefits etc. We then went to live out of UK for a bit and when I came back we were living with my Dad and we decided we could manage without intervention. My father died in January and we have had to move out of our house so at the moment we are 'no fixed abode'. I am staying with different friends and Ollie is with his godmother at the moment so I can work a little. I will contact the needs assessment, but I would love to find out if there are any advocates who can represent Ollie or just guide us through the process. Everyone wants an 'address' or an area we live in - and that is difficult at the moment. Thanks for your help. I really appreciate it.
