I live with my 18 year old son..we both receive pip me due to chronic illnesses and my son due to autism..his girlfriend is going thru a bad home time..would any of my benefits be affected if she moved in for a short term time? X0

Hey @merryweather77 I'm sorry to hear your sons gf is having a rough time, but it's lovely you're wanting to help out.
PIP wont be affected if she moved in short term, as it's not a means tested benefit. I'm unsure about any other benefits you may be claiming though.0 -
Are either of you claiming any other benefits? if so which ones exactly? When you say short term, how long will that be?0

I’m on employment support allowance and I get housing and council tax benefit…0

What about your son and his girlfriend, what other benefits are they claiming? How long is his girlfriend planning on living with him? The reason I'm asking is because if living with a partner and he's claiming means tested benefits himself, such as Universal Credit then he should claim this as a couple with her.
If your ESA includes the Severe disability Premium and she doesn't claim a qualifying disability benefit herself then this could be affected but it will depend on how long she's planning on living with you.0 -
My son and his gf are on no other benefits other than pip0
