I posted a timeline recently:
You could ring the PIP phone number and ask.

It’s not an increased award, it’s a new claim.

it will be paid from the date of submitting the application

The timeline was helpful, I'll post mine once arrears are paid and I get award letter. Was hoping the arrears would only take a few days, down to last few quid in bank and need a food shop.
Fingers crossed it hits my account Monday now.

I was on DLA for years but lost that, was over 5 or so years a go, Ive been trying to get onto PIP for years, I called them and they informed me that even know a week has already passed that they have still yet sent a letter out to me, basically the call handler needed to speak to her manager who they prodded the person who was working out how much they owed me to work a little harder. (Her words) they apologised which said there was no need to say sorry., I am greatful to being awarded it, I do struggle with type one diabetes (its only been three years since I nearly died and when I got diagnosed) and also complex mental health (am up there with the severly ill). Anyway she reassured me the money will come though in the next 2-3 days. Guessing this means from Monday onwards ? or does the DWP send money over the weekend ? Thanks

That will be 3-5 working days and weekends don't count. You're looking at mid to end of next week.

Does anyone know if their payment is paid anytime during the day or like other DWP payments? Was told Friday I'd be paid in 2 to 3 days so wandering if they might be paying the extra owed anytime during the working day. Thanks in advance.

It will be paid by the normal BACS payment and for me mine is in my bank in the early hours of the morning. It’s not usually paid any other time of the day unless it’s sent as a fast payment.
As I advised in my previous comment working days do not include weekends. For this reason I wouldn’t have expected it to be in today if payment hadn’t been sent when you rang Friday.
