Hi, my name is Abbijames!

Hi my Name is Julie
I have a son 24 now with special needs i swapped my career to set up a day centre so adults with special / complex needs had a place they can attend with love - i am also about to set up short breaks as the need is unreal, I have never understood why all inclusive parks have never been a priority when millions are been spent on parks around me - given that a bucket seat for an adult can be used by both able bodied and a disabled person yet no consideration is taking into account when a new park is built, My son loves the slide but doesn't understand he is to big for the ones in the park ? I have had a drawing down of a park want to build and will be looking to raising the money to do so in the north East any advise or help would be appreciated ( i am a trustee of JPC Community Farm charity )

Hey @Abbijames, welcome to the community! 😊 Your story sounds really amazing. I imagine it was a lot to learn as well? Always happy to hear more about how going through that was and things you learned!
Scope did recently do a campaign specifically about playground accessibility. You can see some of the results here:
