How to decorate my wheelchair
Hiya I recently got my first wheelchair (it's a attendant propelled NHS one) and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for how to decorate it and make it more comfortable ready for my holiday up in Wales in a few weeks. This wheelchair isn't one I'll be in a huge amount but shall be used on days when my energy is lacking and the pain won't allow me to walk far. Any suggestions?

Hi, not ignoring you, just thinking! What are your interests, what is just so you! How waterproof do the decorations have to be? Rain, rain, rain. Transfers might be one answer.

For safety, stick retroreflective film everywhere. Celtic or other pattern for example.

The holiday sounds very exciting @ecurr I'm a bit jealous!
As for decorations, I agree some safety stickers would be very useful. You can also get vinyl tape fairly cheaply online that you could wrap around bits to make them more colourful and not quite so hard.1 -
Thank you all for the suggestions they're very useful.

Yes defo the safety tape. Also occurs to me: is the wheelchair permanently yours or just for the holiday? If you have to give it back then the decorations need to be removable.

It's mine for the next five years and then the NHS will (if I still need it) give me a replacement one.

I second transfers or stickers! I changed the seat cushion on my NHS wheelchair so that it was a bit more comfy for me, but that's quite a personal thing depending on what feels nice for your body. And my mum helped make a cover for the cushion in a different fabric that felt more personal. It was removable so you could take it off to pop it in the wash if needed. I found the vinyl fabric that came with the original cushion got me feeling a bit too sweaty and sticky in the summertime!
I think I also had a few ribbons tied or wrapped around various parts to liven it up 😊
Hope you have a lovely holiday in Wales! I've spent a lot of time there, it's a beautiful part of the world!

when I thought my rollator was a bit boring, though it isn't, being emerald green - they go so nicely together. Cushion covers of course come in every conceivable design.

Ooh that's a good idea the cushions really aren't great in the heat I'll definitely make a cover for it

You can't beat Amazon for things like this

Additionally, you can add a bicycle bell, and flashlight - these are not decorations, but can be useful.
