Believe it or not - my local hospital still uses FAX !

They publish fax numbers on the website

had I realised this earlier - I would have faxed them for updates - using https://faxzero.com/

Blimey. The NHS had a deadline of 2020 to get rid of fax! I guess the pandemic delayed that, but doubt it'll last much longer.

I wasn't aware that faxes could be sent from a modern PC so that is a very useful website. 🙂

To be fair, I worked for a bank many, many years ago.

Did you know cheques were meant to be completely phased out by 2018?

These things just always get pushed back and back for various reasons.

Cheques are too useful to ever be phased out - how else would you pay an odd job man or similar - CASH ?

The idea would be that everything would be done via electronic bank transfer or cash. The industry was fully set up to phase them out, but it was cancelled after a final consultation. From what I remember of the results there were strong concerns that a lot of the older generation would be disproportionately affected. As they still rely fairly heavily on cheques and are not used to using online/electronic banking. It would make them especially vulnerable to scams, as cheques at least have a clearing period where you can cancel them. The Faster Payments system, which is the most common method of electronic transfer, is near instant and it can be difficult to get money returned.

I finally received results of my CT scan from early June - in a letter from Colorectal on Tuesday.

It says that the pain in my bowels is NOT "cancer/polyps" but is caused by L1 L2 L3 and L4 vertebra breaking down !!

    So it is all linked

Next problem is trying to get Physio for my spine !!

HI @Wibbles. What a long journey this has been for you! I'm so happy that it isn't cancer 😊 I hope you can get a good physio quickly after everything you've been through.

I do have an option of using a Personal Trainer who I used to use for gym training - he's now a qualified physio - but I would have to pay…..

Ah I see. Hopefully the NHS will sort one out for you but considering your whole debacle I won't hold my breath! Could your Personal Trainer be a short-term option? Just in case you're waiting a long time for the NHS?
