UC and LCWRA backpay
Hi everyone.. I've tried to look through prev discussions but not seen anything the same.
But my daughter started getting UC Aug 23. We were never made aware of LCWRA until June 24 when asked for fit notes. (I had no idea about it until then either) She was awarded LCWRA shortly after that.
I then requested a mandatory reconsideration for the start date of LCWRA, which has now been changed and awarded from August 23, to begin Nov 23 with the waiting period.
So my question is, will she get backpay from November 23 as that's when she was entitled to it?
(Side note, she never got lcw or anything other than regular single person UC, she was awarded lcwra June 24, her first payment will be this week)
Thanks in advance ☺️

Hello Louise, it is my understanding that if you appeal a decision re. LCWRA, you should receive full arrears. Why not ask the people who are dealing with your daughter's case if she will receive arrears?…and then appeal if funding is not backdated and you feel this is not right/fair.
Make sure you keep a notebook of all dates, ££, decisions etc.
Best wishes, Elizabeth
