Hi @Agnia. I'm so sorry you're struggling with insomnia, it must be very difficult. Have you spoken to your Dr about the medication not working?
The Sleep Charity has some information about insomnia and different ways to manage it. Maybe it could be helpful?
Hopefully one of our members will be able to share their experiences.

Hi Rachel thank you
yes many times i was reporting to the dr that promethazine doesn’t work is too weak for me

What was their response to that? Did they not offer any alternative? If they didn't, I wonder if it may be worth seeing a different Doctor so you can get a second opinion. It's not fair on you to have to keep suffering.

i really don’t understand it that how possible that I’m left without stronger medicine And suffering
i experience slow speech
The long term sleep deprivation im experiencing can cause diabetes ( im pre diabetes already, intestinal disease ( i have a problem with my intestines) symptoms similar to schizophrenia and other problems

i would also like to add that in my case when im housebound i need a stronger drug than promethazine due to the fact that i dont engage in any physical activity that may have a positive impact on my sleep quality and sleep in general

I tried a lot of things. I cluding zopiclone and phenegran. Phenegran did work but really leaves me groggy the whole next day.
The best thing I have found and still use is high strength melatonin. [Removed by moderator - medical advice] It has worked wonders for my sleep.

Hi @ricky1040. I've just had to remove some information from your post as we don't allow recommendation of medications and their strengths. Hope you understand 😊

I have periods of really bad insomnia and I agree things can seem tonnes worse at night, especially the overthinking. I just got into the habit of if I couldnt get to sleep in an hour, I'd get up and do something, often a nice hot bath with an audiobook. I found once I started overthinking things, it'd make things even worse. So the key is finding ways to help your mind switch off, the more you worry about not sleeping, the more likely it is you wont sleep.
