Amputee with impairment to "good" leg

I had a below knee amputation to my left leg last year in unplanned emergency surgery following SEPSIS. I already had Osteoarthritis in the right knee, and it is completely unable to take my weight standing. Therefore, the prosthetics team said I was not a candidate for an artifical limb until the knee was repaired.... so now on a waiting list for knee replacement, which in Wales is about 5 years!
I feel like I am in an endless loop. Desperate to get a prosthetic, but limited by the waiting list for the knee surgery. Till then there is no alternative to using a wheelchair 24/7, which is not the solution I was hoping for!

Hi @davidb2010. I'm sorry you've got such a long wait for a knee replacement. I hope it's not a full 5 years before you're seen. How are you getting on with the wheelchair? I know it's not what you hoped for but it'll hopefully only be temporary.
