It has no end date because it's an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. When it's time for your review you will receive a letter on your journal telling you that they are referring you for a WCA. A few days later you will receive the form in the post.

poppy 123456 do you know what the longest anyone has actually stayed on the Lcwra without having a WCA ? Can it be years ? I have actually been on it for 17 months? . Just want to try and prepare myself … thanks

It can be years depending on circumstances yes.

My last WCA was 2018 with a two year re assessment plan (I say plan because they can re assess at any time).

I rang up in 2020 and was told the date on the system was now 2022.

    I haven't bothered asking again.

I was asked by UC last year to confirm my GP Surgery, at a time when a small number were selected for re assessment, but heard nothing further so things didn't proceed for me.

Significant backlogs now exist within the system and I've not heard of re assessments resuming in any great numbers.

The assessment providers have recently changed and recruitment is underway for more staff, but it's all guesswork and speculation as to when things will really get moving again.

It's been 4 years for me but I do know some have gone as long as 10 years without a review. The longest I've heard is 12 years.

thanks for reply … l don’t understand why they say a certain time , l was awarded for 17 months.. don’t fully understand why they leave it that long . I heard the longest you can be on Lcwra was 2 years … so it’s very often a long length of time ?

My LCWRA claim was decided in March 2022 and hasn't been reviewed since.

No, you weren't awarded for 17 months because LCWRA has no end date. It's an ongoing award until a new decision says otherwise. The timescale they tell you is just a guide to when you maybe reviewed, it doesn't mean you will be reviewed at that time. For this reason it's pointless asking them when your review date is because it doesn't really mean anything.

The longest isn't 2 years, as has been advised many people wait much longer between reviews. The delay this time is because for the majority of people that have LCWRA reviews have been suspended for more than 4 years.

I was on it for twelve years before they sent me a reassesment form

I had a telephone assessment and I remained in the support group.

    Contribution based.

I believe Maximus are doing assessments in the north from last week and they have a very bad reputation being aggressive and the rest that goes with it which I experienced today trying to call them for some information regarding assessment. I asked the first person I spoke to who was so rude if I could, speak on behalf of my partner as she is doing the assessment but Would put great mental stress and not be able to answer proper he said no you can’t. I put the phone down and after some time rang back and spoke to another person who was better than the first one he replied that if you are a appointee then you are allowed to speak on behalf of your partner go back to universal credit and add your name to become appointee for your partner. I’m not sure whether they will do that. Any suggestions?

I've had 2 or 3 (can't remember exactly) paper based assessments for ESA (same process) over the last 11 years or so. Never really sent much evidence other than the form that was filled in because I never really had much.

If your partner can't manage their own claim because they are either mentally incapable or severely disabled then you can become their appointee. You will be responsible for their whole claim, which will also include filling out forms and attending appointments, including answering all questions during any assessments.

To start the process off you will need to put a message on their journal, if you have access to one and ask them. A DWP representative will need to visit your home to fill out the forms and for you to sign them.

If you're not the appointee then usually they like the claimant to answer the questions their self.
