ah lol it’s a very quiet neighbourhood, I’m always welcoming new people when they move in. But no one’s wanting to move lol.

Hi Rachel, I live a very boring life really, I try to set challenges but fail more than I succeed. I do not get out much so most of the things I set myself are imaginary or concepts. I have spent several years on one idea, but most are done over a few hours or days. I am putting together a team to form a choir for people and their carers who have a Neurological illnesses. It is great to sing or make music in general, as whilst you do anything musical you create positive endorphins in the brain. The feel good factor the endorphins make give you a great high, you could say it is the best drug you do not have to take. Try singing or playing an instrument, you will soon see what I mean! Have you still got the recorder, left over from Primary School?? Get it out and give it a go, you can have a lot of fun and enjoyment.. My son had a teacher who played Jazz on his recorders

It doesn't matter if things don't always work out @Lindsey54, the point is that you tried 😊 A choir is an amazing idea! I've always thought I'd love to join one but never have the courage. You must let us know how it goes. I love music and singing. I play piano but not as often as I should. I could never put anyone through my recorder playing 😂 Do you play any instruments? We're talking about Universal Music Day here which might interest you.

@JW77 that all sounds wonderful. Making a community garden is such a lovely thing to do, did you plant vegetables? Haha I love that you danced with all the men! Were they basically carrying you around or did you manage to follow the steps?

Hi Rachel, Can you get me more info on Universal Music Day please.

I played guitar, ukulele, flute and recorder, but stopped because of loosing the dexteratory needed to play them.. I have tried the bass guitar but finding it slow going. My daughter has benefited from my giving up, I gave her my Fender Acoustic, Telecaster and an Epiphone Les Paul, she is a good player and plays in a band.

Hi Vikki, It is very nice to make others smile and it is often not the big things that are done but the small ones, simple and honest compliments or gestures often stay with you longer.. It is the fact of giving something that can never be replaced, your time.. When I was little I remember Tinga and Tukka (2 Koalas singing) "If I can help somebody as I pass along, then my living has not been in vain" the sang with Aunty Jean. It has stayed with me a long time.

Hi @Lindsey54 here's the post about Universal Music Day. Here's a website with some more info too - National Today.

Your daughter is so lucky!! What kind of band does she play in? My stepdad plays guitar in a band and has a recording studio. We love going in there and listening to music all night, it's so relaxing. I've also tried learning bass guitar but I'm finding it too heavy!

Yes we grow veg. Started the garden end of 2019.. Just as Covid came along. mostly veg, strawberries, we've got some fruit bushes & compost bins.

    Dancing was like this https://youtu.be/TKBIN8dAsBs?feature=shared
To be fair the lead guy could have been the guy In the vid if he'd fled from Iran. He had a beard and amazing moves! And such energy!

I've been to one choir practice myself, all guys older than me (as usual). And mostly classic or shanty type songs. I wanna rock to a bit of Meat, or Majestica.. A lot of choirs are really expensive too & want long term membership/commitment, which with a disability doesn't work.

That dance looks so fun @JW77. Love the energy of the lead guy.

I had to look up Majestica and wow, yes, a choir singing their songs would be amazing! You definitely need to try and get one up and running. I didn't know you had to pay membership to a choir, what a shame they're so expensive.

It's also worth looking up Tommy Johannson (the lead singer in Majestica) his solo work is amazing. Up until recently he was also in another band, Sabaton. So if you like a bit of historical storytelling with metal, check it out.
