    Hey @jez1974, welcome to the Scope community 😊 I have not heard much about stem cell therapy for strokes. I believe they may still be in clinical trials? I know it's quite amazing what they can do now.

    Would you like to share what you already know about them perhaps?

    Hi @jez1974 - & welcome to the community from me also. As Jimm mentions studies have mainly initially been done with rats, where there wasn't shown to be any benificial effect with stem cells, tho one study seemed to show that there was potential. This showed there was some improvement in upper limb function in a clinical trial which was said to be on-going in a paper published Mar 2023 (see below).

    There also seems to be potential in looking at altering gut microbiota as the gut-brain-axis is very important for overall health, & is being looked at as a promising future neuroprotective therapy, which is mentioned in this paper.
