World CP Day and Disney+ Collaboration
I don't know if you have seen but Disney+ has adapted the book, "Out of My Mind" for World CP Day 2024. This is huge!
WorldCPDay.org says:
Our exclusive partnership with Disney+ for World Cerebral Palsy Day has received global recognition. On Friday, October 4 we launched the trailer for Out of My Mind - a new film telling the story of Melody, a non-verbal wheelchair user with cerebral palsy. The film stars Phoebe-Rae Taylor, an actress with lived experience of cerebral palsy, with Jennifer Aniston providing Melody's internal monologue. More than seven million people have watched the trailer in two days, including 225,000 people on World CP Day social media channels, and outlets such as People Magazine, iMDB and ABC News covering the partnership.
We have more exciting news - we will be releasing an exclusive snippet of Out of My Mind with a video message from some of the stars of the film later tonight! Stay tuned for more. Did you miss the trailer the first time around? Check it out below!

Honestly, for me the fact they've adapted this and used an actor with lived experience of the condition is amazing. So often actors with lived experiences that the character shares often get so easily overlooked. I'll put this one down to watch 🙂
