Housing benefit, LCWRA, PIP, UC
Hi I just need some advice as not sure what to do for the best.
I am currently receiving housing benefit (£600), UC - I am single with one child. I'm also receiving LCWRA and PIP.
I was looking at going back to work part time but I am hesitant as I am worried I will be no better off and if I can't cope with it I am worried I will lose my benefits which has become a safety net for me with my illness.
The job I was looking at was 22.5hrs a week, take home roughly £1200
How much better off would I be and will I lose my housing benefit and LCWRA, as these are the most important elements.
Thank you in advance! I'd be ever so grateful for any advice as I'm not sure what to do for the best.

Unless you’re living in either supported or temporary housing then your rent will be paid through UC known as housing element. Not Housing Benefit.
You will have the work allowance of £404/month. For every £1 of earnings over that amount your UC will reduce by 55p.
With earnings of £1,200 your UC will reduce by £437.80/month. Please note that the more earnings you receive the less UC you’ll be entitled to. The less earnings the more UC you’re entitled to.

Thank you for reply! I am currently renting through a shared ownership scheme. Does this make a difference?

No. Your rent will be included in your UC known as housing element and the above advice is correct.
