Howdy folks.
So today is the day many have been dreading, so to help us support each other and keep things a bit tidier, I thought it'd be good to have just one discussion about the budget, so others needing help don't get lost in lots of discussions saying the same thing.

Scope will of course make an official statement, but this takes time. I'll post it as soon as I hear something. 😊

Please remember there are many sites out there that want to sensationalise things so they get clicks on their sites and may be giving false information, or guesses. So please only take your news from reliable news sources. I've added a link to the BBC website where they will be updating things in real time.

BBC Budget Live Updates

And please remember, we're all worried about what today will bring, but please try to be polite and civil to everyone.

Much love. ❤️

I don't think todays budget will focus on any plans from the DWP.

neither do I albus (as commons will vote on the budget bill next week and a number of labour backbenchers are uncomfortable about more welfare cuts - labour won’t want mass descent- hence why I think it will be light on disability - that stuff will come in the white paper and pip reforms in the spring)

That being said I have been wrong before

The guardians prediction on the subject

Yes I agree @apple85 I have a feeling anything PIP related wont be solidified until Spring at the earliest.

doesn’t mean there won’t be other things that won’t hugely affect scope members though

Those of us lucky enough to have the family safety net may find the gov has taken scissors to it in the next 2hrs

thank you for sharing the screenshots @apple85 - I was trying to read the BBC News website updates but there’s a lot of information to do with other things there, too, and I was finding it confusing

Unless I misheard Reeves she unequivocally confirmed they're going ahead with the Tory plans to reform the WCA.

I know the above isn’t 100% relevant to us - however with the gov wanting more disabled ppl in employment this will certainly impact labours ‘success’ in that aim
