Adoption application
My wife and I are beginning to look into adoption, but I’m feeling anxious that my disability might affect our chances. I have hEDS, POTS, and IIH, and I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user. We’re planning to go through our local authority (Southwest), and I’d love to connect with anyone who has been through this process as a disabled parent.
If you have any advice, insights, or experiences to share, it would mean a lot to us. Thank you in advance for any guidance or reassurance you can offer!

Heya @ZoeMP and welcome to the community. 😊
Wow, sounds like you're embarking on quite the life adventure! I'm afraid I don't know a huge amount about the adoption process, so I cant offer any advice. But I just wanted to pop in and say hi and best of luck. 😊

Hi @ZoeMP
Welcome to the community. Myself and my husband went through the adoption process quite a few years ago now. I'm a disabled person. I have hemiplegia cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
I'm not sure what the process is like now, but happy to try and answer your questions. Adoption UK is a good place for advice and guidance as well.
Kind Regards
Sara
