Hi, my name is dawdywardy! UC assessment periods
I was in LWC and was asked for medical information in June 2024. I posted off the information July 11 2024. I had a medical appointment 16 October 2024 and received confirmation that my have been accepted for LWCRA on November 4th. After speaking to UC advisor by telephone today they say my first payment will be February 2025. Is this correct as I was under the impression your three month assessment period was from the day you handed in the information wich was July. I thought July-August, August-September,September - October would be my assessment and I would receive the extra money from October. I’m highly confused about what I’ve been told. Thank you.

Did you request the review/report a change of circumstances in June, or did the DWP send you a reassessment out of the blue?
Either way, you have incorrectly advised by the UC helpline, and your answer will help us to give you the right answer 😊

no I was was awarded LWC in February 2022 and was never contacted by the dole again untill June 2024 for a reassesment//medixal. I had initially in February 2022 asked for a mandatory review as to the group I was placed in but that was denied.

Okay, the only relevant part here is the most recent WCA.
Going from LCW to LCWRA means no waiting period applies.
(That waiting period only applies to new claims that end up being awarded LCWRA)
As the DWP initiated the review, LCWRA element becomes payable from the assessment period in which the decision was made.
What are your assessment period dates and usual payment day?

I’m not sure what the assessment period is all I can add is that I received the form from health assessment late June 2024 and passed that information in on 11 July 2024. I had my medical at the assessment centre on 16th October and was told through my journal on the 4th November that I had they had decided I was placed on the LWCR group. My payment date from r UC is on the 21st of every month.

You should see the LCWRA element in your next statement, for the November 21 payment.
This is because as of November 4th, you are entitled to LCWRA.
If it isn't added, send a Journal note (under Payment) and ask why it's missing.
They can then ensure it's on your statements December onwards, and send the one month they owe as a separate payment.
