LCWRA Help
hi, I’m new to all this and would like some advice.
Submitted my first sick note to UC from the hospital from 27th September - 27th October.
(My condition actually began on the 4th September and I did have a sick note from the GP but did not submit this as I was in hospital)
Submitted my next sick note from 27th October - 5th January (which covers three months)
I have my UC WCA this morning and I’m wondering if I get awarded LCWRA when will payment start? Also, how long do I wait to hear a decision?
Am I too late to submit the 4th September sick note?
Thanks

If you get awarded LCWRA, there is a waiting period of 3 full assessment periods before LCWRA is added to your payment. There is no money payable during that time.
If you could give your assessment period and payment date, one of us can do a timeline for you.
As to how long you'll wait to hear the result, it varies so much it's hard for us to advise you with any certainty. It can take a few weeks, a few months, or quicker longer etc.
With sicknotes the clock starts from when you give the Fit Note to UC.

Hi,
It's not the date on the fit note that matters, it's the day it gets provided to UC.
It also depends on your UC assessment period dates.
For a very rough estimate based on the info we have so far, I would expect your first LCWRA payment to be in February.
WCA decisions are generally quicker than PIP decisions though that actual waiting time varies by area.

Ok thank you, I started my UC claim August 28th.
I submitted sick notes from 28th September which is until January 5th.
I actually had sick notes starting from July but I didn’t submit these as I have been in and out of hospital and was delirious. Would I able to submit them now? I have from 17 July - 28 August and 4 September - 3 November unsubmitted from my GP.
There is cross over because the ones I have submitted from 28 sept - 5th Jan were submitted by the hospital consultant, not my GP, as I was hospitalised end of September into October and my partner had submitted it on my behalf.

You don't need to submit more Fit Notes for after September as you are already covered until 5th January.
It's doubtful UC would now accept Fit Notes from July- September, but you can always ask via Journal.

hi
First assessment period -
27 August - 26 September (payment 3 oct)
second assessment period27 September - 26 October
(Payment 3 nov)
I submitted my sick note from 28 September - 5th Jan, however I had sick notes from July onwards that I did not submit by mistake

Assuming UC reject previous Fit Notes:
September/October AP: Fit note provided *partial AP not counted for waiting period *
October /November: AP 1
November/December: AP 2
December/January: AP3
January/February: Eligible for LCWRA Element.
March 3rd: First LCWRA element paid

Thank you. do you think it’s worth me trying to submit my previous sick notes? I’m unsure I can wait until march I have 0 money.

You didn’t submit your claim for UC until 28th August so they will not accept it from July as you weren’t claiming UC at that time.
All you can do is ask if they will start the waiting period from 28th August but usually they won’t. It will be down to a decision maker to make their final decision.

hi, sorry to tf on the end but I am also very confused, been signed off with consistent notes since feb, only yesterday did I have a phone call about a wca and got the forms to fill out today, can anyone please advise me what I’m expecting? I’ve been told I’m highly likely to receive LCWRA but also concerned that it will only be payable from this week despite my sick notes dating way back to Feb? Thanks in advance x

LCWRA has a waiting period of three full assessment periods, from the date the first Fit Note was handed in.
If you can give some more details one of us can do a timeline for you.
The date you handed in your first Fit Note
Your assessment period and payment dates.
